Service is consistently professional and fast. Do not have experience with he food here, but the drinks are very well-made. Good fun in the evenings with various DJ's.
Cool place to hang out and have some drinks. There was an Afrikaans music band playing which was really good! Service was quick even though the bar area was packed. Mature crowd and the look and feel adds a vibe of “for professionals or after works drinks”
After trying to find a place that would accommodate 8 of us without a reservation, we came across Balboa. Inspired by Rocky, this trendy bar serves everything that you could ask for( besides flaming lamborghini shots), from fine whiskeys to pina coladas to flat whites and some nibbles. I opted for a flat white and friends chose the Martini slush, craft beer and we shared nachos. The atmosphere is festive and social, what more could you ask for!

The Cocktails here are to die for. I would legit sit here for hours and just enjoy their affordable and tasty cocktails. I recommend this place after 5:30 pm thats when there is a nice chilled vibe.
Haven't had a meal here yet, although the vibe at night is great. Had a live band, place was packed, which is always good, and the coffee tequila shots were dangerously good!

If you're looking for unpretentious, a very chill and relaxing vibe with a great view, this balcony bar's your perfect match. Add to the mix Lakeside beer on tap, singing barmen (if you're lucky) and the friendliest staff you'll encounter on this block of Stellenbosch.
Their speciality is thin-base pizza with customisable toppings, brought to you in bowls so you can build your own - and they're not stingy with ingredients. Apparently the nachos are also good, but as yet, I still have to sample them.
Great, unpretentious spot, best for after work drinks. Best avoided after 9 in the evenings as it's quite popular with the "older" student crowd.
Such a vibe! Their selection of delicious cocktails will keep me coming back! The nachos are a must, especially as a snack for the table as the portions are so big! Definitely great for a not-so-typical Stellies night out.
Had such a great time here. The pizza was delicious and we could order extra topics which we could add ourselves. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. The beer on tap was also great. Will be returning soon.
Always a great spot for a night out. Especially if you prefer to avoid a student party (23 and up only). Never been disappointed, and the bartenders are generally really cool.

Awesome space more for your mature crowd, definitely does not have that student-life-theme which is really great! We got great service from the barman and they were friendly and knowledgeable. They clearly have a passion for mixology! We had many different cocktails and at some point we ask the barman to make a cocktail of his own design and it was awesome!! They got premium alcohol which is generally hard to find in stellenbosch. They had live music which also contributes to an awesome environment.

What a cool bar, we really enjoyed our experience here up until the unknown book reading.
We were a big group and had no idea about this book reading as we arrived a good 1-2 hours before it started. Just a suggestion to the manager, instead of complaining to your other barmen about us making a noise (we had no idea that we could not talk in a bar that was extremely lively when we walked in) come and tell us. Be considerate and let your patrons know of the book reading and the restrictions on them before they sit down. To avoid the death stares from all the other patrons.
Besides the million death stares from all the other people in the bar it was lovely and I suggest visiting this place when you get a chance. Just remember to keep quite when someone is on stage reading....

The cocktails are amazing and the vibe is awesome. Our bartender Marla obviously knows her stuff. We are from Cape Town and both agree that we would come all the way to Stellenbosch just for Marla's cocktails. 10/10

What a bar! In the middle of stellenbosch, on a balcony (you dont have a stunning view but still) and with an even more beautiful, authentic bar with great bar tenders!
