We had a lovely experience for Easter lunch. The staff were welcoming and the service was good. The menu is perfect for all tastes and also not too big. After checking in with Facebook I received a free glass of wine which was a lovely surprise. If you're looking for a cozy winter restaurant look no further. This place has it all.

The last time I visited Vredenheim, you were fully booked. It was packed on a sunday afternoon which was a good sign and I must say that the few dinners that I saw looked so appetising, that I returned last Friday with some friends visiting from Wales. I wasn't particularly very hungry and ordered a salad which was almost too pretty to eat and so big that I could not finish it! One petit lady on my table ordered the oxtail and insisted I taste a sample as off course she said I was also the oxtail potjiekos queen while I lived in the UK a few years ago, I will be able to tell if it was good. It was indeed superb and I did not think in the world that she would finish it, but she did!!!! That must tell you something. One gentleman ordered fish which we were told was going to be cooked in the wood fire oven, (I loved the sound of that!) and happy to say he also thoroughly enjoyed it! All in all, I will be coming back soon with some more overseas visitors as I love to show them the big cats - I think it is a fantastic day out to entertain friends and don't forget to do the wine tasting next door – especially the gracious lady...I love her very much. Great service, great setting, great wine - the seafood was good, the steak was okay, would love to try another of their Thai dishes as the flavours were amazing!
A beautiful restaurant with an outstanding vegan menu in addition to a wide selection of local wines. The views from the restaurant of nearby mountains and the surrounding area, complimented by attentive staff are incredible.
The restaurant has an extensive plant based/vegan menu that The vegan nachos are better than regular! They are so creamy and flavorful.
What a beautiful place. Situated in the beautiful winelands of Stellenbosch, I was pleased with everything La Pineta offered. On this cold rainy winters night, we were welcomed by warm, friendly staff... our table situated beside a beautiful fireplace that just made the entire place feel cozy... The decor is old meets modern with an earthy feel, and has lovely plants all around. I'm sure the views are great but because of the weather, we couldn't see much but the little that I did see, certainly peeked an interest to come back in summer...
Not just because of the views, the food was great. Michelin star in my books. The plating of the starter, just made me want taste everything on my plate. I was 2 minded about choosing the fishcakes but I was not disappointed. It was so good.
I love that they have set menus as well. Specifically for big groups...
I absolutely love this restaurant
La Pineta was the only restaurant that would accommodate my anniversary party and cater for myself and 3 other guests out of 28 who have Celiac Disease.
Right from the beginning, they were extremely accommodating and willing to design a menu that could safely rule out gluten cross contamination in the preparation and cooking of our food.
We had the private dining room for our party and it was perfect. The service was impeccable. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. Everyone raved about it.
You have set the standard for what it means to accommodate those with serious dietary requirements and shown others in the hospitality industry that it is possible to do.
We had a truly memorable and special night with friends and family.

The menu has a wide variety of choice, I recommend the mussels, the flavour was fantastic. The views are very nice, the service was very good. Also the price is really good value too. You won't be disappointed.
It's a classic restaurant. I enjoy it since I came to SA the first time.
My "small salad" was enough for the next day too. I guess the portions are for local teenagers only. 🤩👍

Small intimate wedding reception
On the 21st of October we held our wedding reception at La Pineta’s private dining room area. I would like to thank all the staff at La Pineta for a wonderful experience and memories that we have made that evening.
From my first email communication to the very end, I can say I have received prompt responses and their assistance with every aspect of my dining experience was dealt with upmost professionalism.
Sarah, Chantel, Marius and Mia and the rest of the La Pineta staff, thank you so much for all the assistance.
The La Pineta team went out of their way to ensure my reception was exactly as what I have envisioned. Table placings, décor on the tables etc. Additionally, they allowed me to bring through my flower decorations, wedding cake, MCC and additional wine a day earlier and kept it at their premises.
For the set menu design, I could discuss this in detail with Chantel and she guided me perfectly to design my own set menu. Making sure that we have covered all the different dietary requirements and varieties to choose from.
During the evening the waiters were extremely professional. Making sure that all the guests were looked after, and food were served as per requested time.
Compliments to the CHEF as well!!! All the guests were extremely impressed with the level of food quality that was served. I, myself missed out on the Lindt Chocolate Torte, but apparently that was the dessert to have 😊 I would need to come back and try it out myself!
I would highly recommend La Pineta, if you are looking for a small intimate wedding reception. They go above and beyond to make sure your special day is indeed special!

Great restaurant for a family. Get’s really busy on weekends, so do make a booking. Nice big jungle gym and play yard outside for all ages. A big variety of food options, which were fresh and nicely presented.
The staff were friendly and willing to go the extra mile for my group. The food was spectacular, with stunning views of the winelands area.
Great service, and I really enjoyed my meal. Good wine selection and plenty options on the menu as well. Decent view and also a fire going for heat in the winter. Semi-outside seating for winter but with screens that can be lifted in summer. I will be back. The pizza my wife selected was a bit bland, but to be fair, she did remove one of the ingredients that would have added a bit of zing.

I really felt at home and enjoyed every part of my experience.
The food was really good, but I could recommend more flavouring (like salt) for the steak and mushroom sauce.
Everything else was really good.
I've had the nachos as well and really enjoyed it.
