I am from Jhb, originally from CT so doing a breakfast in Stellenbosch is always needed. I took my niece and met a friend. The service was great, the food was delicious and the coffee to die for. I am picky with my eggs, they were done exactly as I like them. The home made bread was so tasty, mushrooms were fragrant and well cooked. We sat outside, next to the dam and an umbrella was opened so the sun did not bother us too much. The only thing I will say is that the menu for the kids should be a little less fancy. Keep it simple, do flap jacks instead of crumpets.
The prices were reasonable except R65 for a glass of champagne is a little over the top.
All in all a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back when in CT.
A friend sugfested that we visit the establishment for My birthday lunch which was on the 9th of February this past Saturday.
After careful consideration and scrutinity of the establishment, I then decided to try out Restuarant.
I made reservations for 13:30 unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we were an hour late, tried calling to inform we are still comong but no luck.
To my suprise when got there our table was still waiting for us,we were attended to immediately, Waitor was attentive, Managers checked up on us regularly and the food was amazing, fresh, warm and very generous portions.

Mont Marie is a beautiful establishment well-deserving of their 4 star rating.
The venue is lovely with a stunning view from the terrace of the Helderberg mountains, lush green hills and a small dam (ducks included). The interior is elegant and classy, without being stiff – you feel comfortable and at home.
The service was also incredibly professional and friendly.
We went for a Sunday breakfast and it was delightful. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Everyone was enjoying being out in the beautiful countryside and sharing good food with loved ones. All our breakfasts were divine and the coffee was sooo good.
I’ll most definitely be back to have a relaxing meal on their terrace overlooking the dam. Beautiful restaurant with delicious food.
Mont Marie is just lovely; classy yet relaxed. Good food, selection and service. Although we tend to opt for Post Card Cafe, this special place remains a firm favorite!
Myself and my fiance enjoyed every moment since we arrived at mont marie until we left. The service is excellent and the views are breathtaking whilst enoying a wonderful breakfast.
Mont Marie is just spectacular! We had a large table but the service from our waitress, Ivy was slick and attentive. good was delicious - I ordered the beef burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. A beautiful setting in Stellenbosch.

Always a win due to the incredible view and lovely grounds surrounding the restaurant. Their food is very nice and their platters are always a wonderful partner to a good bottle of wine. It's a recommended spot for a nice chilled afternoon with friends in summer.
Beautiful setting and lovely decor. The breakfast was delicious. The portion size is also just right. Service is efficient and friendly. The coffee is unfortunately not that great.
I have been here many times before. What keeps me going back is the fantastic views and the tranquility that goes with walking into this restaurant. It's great if it's cold of a warm day. The fireplace on the inside keeps you nice and warm. I have eaten the fillet steak and fish here before and I could not find fault. What's nice about it here is you get the whole fine dining experience with exceptional food quality and a reasonably priced bill. Thank you keep up the great work.

Stunning venue with a view of the lake , so tranquil . Ducks wander around peacefully even saw a lovely Egyptian geese and ducklings swimming on the pond , kids can bring their fishing rods and take a try in the bond . Views spectacular. Had the springbok lion steak was done to perfection and melt in your mouth .my partner had the fillet steak also was perfect. Only drawback was the dessert , my chocolate fondant was not fully cooked and had caved in which you can see by the pics ..so I could only eat around it and not the middle . When the waiter did eventually arrive I did bring this to his attention and showed him how much was left. He said he will mention it to the chef but I doubt he did . Service was very slow , when I received my springbok it was already room temperature, bordering on cold and not warm ,however I did not want to complain about this as it took quite a while for the food to arrive so I was afraid of further waiting . The waiters took very long to arrive between each course or to take orders, although in fairness they did have a number of big family type tables on that day ,so this could be the reason . The cheesecake that my partner had was average but tasty. The view made it all worth while though as u didn't mind the wait as much as there was so much to absorb. A great place to try and family friendly with play area for smaller kids outside and the lake for kids to do their fishing.
The Mont Marie Restaurant consistently ranks as one of my first picks.
This is one of my top three recommendations for where to take visitors from out of town if you want to make an excellent impression. The food is of exceptionally high quality, and the wine selection is sure to brighten your day.
Looking out at Hottentots-Holland Mountain is a sight to enjoy.

I went there to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it turned out to be the perfect venue for the occasion. The food was outstanding, surpassing our expectations, and it was surprisingly affordable considering it was a special event.
The outdoor setup and the surrounding scenery were truly breathtaking. We enjoyed watching the ducks gracefully strolling around, and the backdrop of the mountains added to the overall charm. To ensure our comfort in the chilly weather, they thoughtfully provided blankets and heaters outside.
The service, while not exceptional, was understandable given the circumstances of sitting outdoors in the cold. It's possible that the waitstaff's attention might have been affected by these factors. However, it didn't detract significantly from our overall experience.
My recent visit to this Stellenbosch GEM left me truly delighted. The restaurant's impeccable management and friendly waiters ensured a seamless experience. The classy ambiance, paired with their remarkable wine selection (The Mana is nou my new Stellenbosch favourite), created the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening. And the food? Simply divine! (I had the lamb shank special) Every bite was delicious. I can't recommend this place enough. We had a wonderful time and will be visiting you regularly.

Easily the best food we had on our trip to Cape Town and the surrounding areas! The staff were amazing, and the atmosphere even better.

Lovely spot with a picturesque view of the mountains from the outside deck overlooking the dam. I went for lunch and food was generally good. The service could be improved as there were long periods we had to wait for our waitress. Our food also took some time for a table of 8 when it was not that busy.
It's a nice relaxed environment with mountain bike riders stopping for a drink/meal after their ride. Would happily return.
