We tried this place on a whim for my birthday in November. Wow - please take it from me that this seafood is unlike anything you've had before. It is extremely fresh and very tasty. It is obvious that the owners have a love affair with the sea and a passion for cooking sea food. It was outstanding and very memorable, and we cannot wait to go back. What would've made this even better would've been a nice tall glass of beer. Unfortunately the restaurant did not yet have a liquor license when we visited (apparently in progress), but patrons are welcome to bring their own drinks with.

It was my first visit, but it felt like I was part of the family. Charl and Melody(owners); man what do I say about them. They are so humble with beautiful personalities. They are people's people. From management to staff. Everything and I mean everything was on point. I can not fault them. Charl, Melody, I salute you guys on a job well done. Met the owner Charl, who was a great host and held an informative conversation about where the restaurant started and what his vision is. Great food, friendly and helpful staff. On Sunday we decided to get out of the house and take a drive down to our local harbour and have lunch at Oppiekaai. The food was delicious and fresh tasting. We had the calamari tubes and tentacles as well as the snoek and chips. The servers were very pleasant. We had a relaxing time as the restaurant wasn't busy. The restaurant is not licensed, which was okay with us. The passionfruit and lemonade was refreshing.

My husband and I went to Oppiekaai for lunch, but weren't starving, so we decided to share a hake and chips meal. The waitress promised to give us the largest portion of hake that they had. She was not lying. 😲 The plate was not big enough and both ends were hanging over the edge (so wish we had taken a pic before dividing it). Best beer-battered hake we've ever had - it was delicious (and I am not particularly found of beer-battered hake). Would recommend this place to anyone. It's setting right on the Harbour just completed the Westcoast experience perfectly.

Food was of the best quality we’ve had in a long time. Staff is amazing and very friendly. Cleanliness is at its best and we just loved it there. Definitely a must if you’re in St. Helena Bay ✨✨
