What a great find! Alina was a tour guide but now opens her home in Soweto to feed tour groups and provide a unique experience. The food was very tasty, with lots of variety. Neighbourhood kids serve the customers, which contributes to their confidence, experience and English language. There were fans keeping the room cool, the bathrooms were clean, and the drinks were well chilled! Having the opportunity to see inside a residential area of Soweto was so much more interesting than the typical tourist restaurants.
The atmosphere is good but winter is cold that makes the place a little uncomfortable in the late afternoon.
The food is very delicious indeed,that will attract more visit to the place.
One of my favorite things I did in Joburg! Awesome food and best of all we were treated so well by the beautiful people of Chez Alina.

I got the best service ever!!! . Wonderful people, very warm and welcoming... They went an extra mile for my daughter decorating the place as we celebrate her birthday. It never ended there they all came out sang for her wow what an awesome way to treat your clients😊. Food was so delicious and appetizing👌Lol we even took takeaways that is how devine it was. Staff is so friendly, fun and professional💯. Chez Alina Restaurant rocks!!! Can't wait to call again🙌
The owner and her staff were wonderful! They made us feel so welcomed. If I'm ever in South Africa again I will definitely stop by again.
Alina is an amazing individual. Not only as regards her restaurant, but also as a wonderful Soweto guide. The lunches served are REAL home cooked heaven. Great after so many hotel and restaurant meals!!
