Simon's town is a quaint little town ,famous for boulders beach and its nesting penguins
Harbourview has a perfect locale overlooking the sea
The food is good ,the prawn platter with rice has some nice crunchy prawns ,the kids rib platter has tasty succulent tender ribs ,chicken pasta is really good so is the fish platter
Served with some chilled beer and vodka with ice it's a splendid afternoon
The food is on the expensive side ,staff is courteous
My husband and I were on a group tour and the tour brought us to this restaurant for lunch. We were two hours late because a 2 girls on our tour coming back late so we were starving when we got here. We were served pretty quickly and the food was amazing. I had local fish and my husband had local meat. Both were absolutely delicious! The server did forget a few things we ordered but she was still super friendly and nice. My only complaint was the mango shake. It was all vanilla ice cream, it even came out white. When I said something to the server she also agreed. She took back the drink. When it came back, there was a tiny bit of yellow at the bottom of the cup and it was extremely liquidity. So I think the person who made it added a tiny bit of juice which went to the bottom and then milk. I wouldn’t recommend getting the milkshakes and our friends ordered the fresh orange juice which she stated wasn’t good or fresh. Other than that the view is amazing and so it the food! I included a picture of the street the restaurant is on, but I forgot to take a picture from the back.
I went with my husband for lunch and we ordered spinach and feta pasta and catch of the day which was yellow tail. Food quality and quantity excellent. Nice view of the beach from the restaurant. Options for vegetarians available. Would recommend it.
Stopped here for a quick lunch before heading to the table mountain. Lovely view of the harbour. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Was empty so got a quick service. Had the fried calamari and prawns. Was delectable. I'm sure rest of the menu would be good too. The only let down was that gratuity was already added by the staff when I got the cheque. Otherwise totally recommended.
Our expectations weren't high when we visited recently. I was expecting a restaurant that was aiming squarely at visitors and not much concerned with delivering a quality product, sadly that's what we've come to expect from a lot of establishments in this area. Glad to say that we were wrong. The service and good were really good, and reasonably priced as well. I can recommend the fish & chips, fresh, tasty and delicious. Will definitely be back.

Wow! From the second you walk into this quaint restaurant on Simonstown harbour, it's a great experience!! The welcome is warm and friendly - from all the staff!! The menu is varied enough, including kiddies options, but really in a place like this, why order anything other than fish!? I have never tasted such outstanding fried hake! Fresh, crispy and just delicious. My companion had the 'catch of the day' which was grilled yellowtail- also delicious. For dessert we had the pancakes with sticky toffee sauce and ice cream. We said we'd be sharing it and it arrived, already thoughtfully divided into separate portions for each of us!! For me, service like that is really top notch!! Lunchtime is busy. If you want to sit outside on the deck I'd recommend that you make a prior booking!! The entire outside deck's tables were reserved. If I lived in the area I'd definitely visit here regularly!!! All you Joburgers who are heading down to the Cape for December holidays, pop down to Simonstown and visit The Harbour View. Tell them I sent you!!!
Harbour View was the first restaurant I visited in Cape Town. It was a quick stop on the way to Boulders. The restuarant lived up up to its name. The view was lovely! We had a table out on the deck.
Both Tim and I had the fried calamari. It was really tasty.
The service was exceptionally slow! Even though the restaurant was empty. Im told that its a Cape Town thing.
In Simonstown ,Great just great. Lets just talk food. I ordered The Fisherman's platter , deep fried hake and deep fried tender calamari. Served with fried chips and salad. This all was prepared and even looked fresh. The fish broke open as you cut it from freshness. Not to mention delicious. My good company had the Ostrich Burger Patty on a toasted ciabatta with Chips and fried onions. Very lekker. ( South African for delicious ). The staff was friendly and the food was prepared quick.
When you are there on a nice sunny day , sit outside on the veranda Enjoy the sun , the breeze and the Harbour View.
Thank you very much, Recommended
I had the Malay chicken rice and it was good. Had a good fusion flavor of Indian and Malaysian cuisine. The ambience is good too.
We stopped here for a quick lunch and weren't disappointed. Parked right outside (street parking), got very busy. Tables with a view if the harbour were the best. Lovely atmosphere For the food, they were generous portions, fresh and tasty. Steaks were lovely and cooked well. If planning to visit on the weekends, will recommend booking ahead of time as it got very busy during the peak lunch hours. Waiters were nice and friendly, they consistently checked on us to ensure we were okay and also to refill our drinks. Restrooms are just at the back and were clean. All in all, it was a lovely experience.
The food was nice, but the ostrich and zebra tasted almost the same because of the same spices on both of them. But it was definitely nice experience :)
I recommend trying the fish dish with potatoes and the delicious mixed seafood dish
This was an unexpected surprise and jewel on our Cape Town tour. Our guide stopped here for us to have lunch and we were amazed. The staff is great, the food is AMAZING. I had the best fish and chips & fried calamari I've ever tasted. The veggie wrap was also very good. Portions are generous, price is good, food is delicious. The chips were AWESOME with the tartar sauce and some ketchup. The views of Simon Town military dock is very beautiful, you'll definitely have a good time.
Good place to stop if you're visiting the Capes. Definitely want to go back some day. Thanks to the staff for the great hospitality!

Lots of types of meat you can only find in Africa. Delicios food would love to go back and try more stuff.
If 5 stars was a person, I would rather call him a friend. Lovely staff, with a rare service delivery and always smiling while taking your orders..food quality is just a berry on top of a cake..🍇👌👌
This is one of the busiest places I've been to in Simon's town. The outer deck is the perfect place to eat your meals while looking out across the water and parked yachts/boats. Food is really good and well worth the price because the portions are large and filling. Quite a popular place because the outside deck area was full of diners.
Good food but we had to kill the cockroach 🪳 next to our table.
We had ostrich burger 🍔, shrimps 🦐 and lobster 🦞
the fish of the day i had was good. and i enjoyed the views and the singers that came by.
