Their service was good...... I ordered sushi which was great and we ordered a platter for one..must saying this was very bad it's like they wanted to add curry to the food not sure. The calamaris were way too rubbery it's like the added Rajah on them. This plate was really a bad decision. We also ordered a kiddies pizza for my son I swear the whole thing was like eating are flour. The pizza was not cooked properly.... if ever we do go back would only be for the sushi

So this is where the locals go for their sushi fix. On Wednesdays it is super busy with locals going for the half price sushi and Graca. You guaranteed to spot a lot of old friends if you returning home, as I usually am. The sushi is fresh and the service is generally friendly. I sometimes have the prawns but tend to just stick to the starters and sushi, which I think are good.
Boyfriend and I stopped for lunch before going to a movie - ordered the rainbow trout platter (sushi), prawns and stuffed calamari and we shared. No major complaints, but the calamari was a bit tasteless. Sushi and prawns were good, but some of the prawns were really tiny. Service was good. Price was decent. Overall a good lunch, but nothing special. If you feel like seafood at a decent price, this is your place!

Amazing sushi.. The jalapeño starter was too hot for me but brilliant if you're into spicy food.. The dessert is outstanding.. The service was perfect and friendly. A night well spent.
We went to Josh Dory's for their Wednesday half price sushi. My family loves the sushi, but I am not yet convinced on all sushi. I decided to try the Prawns avalanche and was this delicious! It's the only sushi that I have ever been able to swallow and actually enjoyed it very much! We also ate the "hearty hake", which was filling for someone that doesn't eat that lot. All and all a very good experience.
I decided to give John Dory's a try at Shelly Beach and boy was I pleasantly surprised. For starters the crab & prawn California rolls was very reasonably priced and well prepared. I opted for the JD's captain Thursday platter for one , with 4 succulent prawns, calamari and hake, it was a sheer delight . The food was of the highest quality , although the prawns were slightly on the smaller side , the hake was as fresh as can be, just flaking off ! To add to this the calamari was soft and tender ! My partner thoroughly enjoyed her prawns as well. The service was good and the restaurant was bustling. Definitely worth a visit ! I certainly recommend it.
I went to the sushi bar to pick a few items. The sushi staff were freindly, helpful and make the most delicious sushi. Our waitresses was on the ball and friendly. This is our favorite go to seafood place near us.
John Dory's, Shelly Beach, once again didn't disappoint. The service was excellent and the sushi starter with the Captain's Seafood Platter was absolutely delicious. Washed down with a glass of sparkling wine. There is always a freindly happy atmosphere, which makes you want to return. Highly recommend.
Wow! Haven’t received friendliness and great service like this in a long time 🤩🤩 so glad we sat down and had our lunch here. My sushi was fresh and yummy, my husbands steak was cooked perfectly and those chips are divine. What made the experience so great is the manger and his energy!
Food was excellent with huge portions that were tasty and presented on lekker-looking plates. On the other hand the service was meh and the waitress disappeared halfway through the meal. We called the soda fountain ladies to assist us and things improved. The play area is great fun. Good venue.
We were pleasantly surprised by this John Dory's restaurant. It exceeded all our expectations in terms of the yummy food, the excellent and warm service and relaxed atmosphere. We had a platter and were quite surprised by the portion. The calamari tubes were by far some of the best calamari I've ever had. Our waitress was absolutely lovely, it's a pity we didn't get her name as we would love to give her kudos for being so warm and accommodating. We will definitely be returning as it was a great experience overall.

Self-catering units. It's my favorite place to visit. Long walks on a blue flag beach. A place also for family, or if you just want to get away from it all. We dined in and did a take-out. Places of interest close by, such as Oribi Gorge and Leopards Rock

Ordered online through Uber Eats and went to collect. Had to wait a few minutes for the food, but had excellent service. We were offered seats inside of the restaurant although we were only there to pickup. The food and service was amazing.
Lived the mussel pot I ordered. Craved it for a while and was very happy with it. Food took a bit long to come but we were there on a Monday afternoon.
