Beautiful surroundings, perfect setting. Arrived for the prize-giving of the Triathlon at lunch ... great timing. We ordered both the beef and chicken burgers ... I am a burger fanatic, the beef burger was possibly THE best I have had! Toasted sesame roll, medium rare beef ... juicy and very tasty! The staff were very friendly and efficient. Thank you for an awesome lunch!
Amazing views and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend Benguela Brasserie and Restaurant. Breakfast, lunch, high tea, wine tasting and dinner was absolutely worth it. Would definitely visit again. Great place to take young kids, they cater for everyone.
Such a beautiful place with really good food. We had a wonderful family lunch here. Service could have been a bit better but the beautiful surroundings make up for it I guess.
Had a great coffee and tea
The service is good
Attention to table settings and detail is good
I found it a bit of a clinical setting however the location and view is outstanding and neutralizes any negatives.
We only had breakfast which was WELL breakfast
@ R65.00 for bacon and eggs with toast and NO Marmalade
And
@ R75.00 for a cheese and ham omelette
I think it a little over the top, but YOU decide.

When driving to Knysna or George and you pass Sedgefield you have to turn into Swartvlei and experience Benguela. The staff are friendly and professional. We also asked some questions about the (award winning) spa there and they were exceptionally informative.
We had breakfast, no complaints whatsoever. I enjoyed the decor and cutlery they presented the food/drinks/sauces in.
The view is something else, makes one feel calm and relaxed. This is a true example of this country's amazing landscapes.
We will definitely be heading back for the wine tasting experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and spa.
One place Dave and I will be sure to visit next time we are in Sedgefield will be Benguela Brasserie. It will make a change for Marguerite and the setting is so peaceful. Dave and I stayed at the Lodge in April and so we only had a short walk to the restaurant. Benguela Brasserie. We chose the Shiraz 2012 to enjoy with dinner which was served slightly chilled and was perfect. A selection of bread was brought to the table and knowing how good their homemade loaves are, I could not resist a slice. I chose the seed bread and slathered it in butter. Dave had the ciabatta with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar mix. An amuse bouche of an Asian prawn with a garlic aïoli made the perfect precursor to our meal.
Beautiful surroundings and relaxed atmosphere make this place a worth while detour when in the garden route. Chocolate and wine pairing was excellent and very professionally handled. The spa looks brilliant and the staff exceptionally well qualified. This was a flying visit but next time we will enjoy the spa and sample the main menu in the restaurant.
Idyllic location, views of the lake are superb. So nice and quiet with occasional bird noises. We had a platter for 2. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing. We also tried the wine and chocolate pairing. It's amazing. I don't even like wine. The only down side to this place is the tiny crazy bird that got angry when we wouldn't feed it and swooped me.
We had the best day ... Started with the wine and choc pairing followed by absolutely delicious Sunday lunch, lazing on poolside loungers in between and having awesome service attending to our every need. Highly recommended!!
