One of the best places to eat in Capetown. The service was very good and food was excellent. The desserts are a must try.
Food :4/5
Service : 5/5
Ambience : 5/5
I can not come to terms with how wonderful this place is.
I have never found a place with so many separate facets of excellence
Their coffee machine is made of 2, one of a kind systems with independent tanks for each faucet, it's completely mental
On top of that you get a little beautiful cake thing and a shot of spackling water for R25 an Americano.
Then the food, the portions are generous and the prices are pretty low compared to most places in cape town, like portion wise it competes with most spots outside of specials
Their under R60 snacks are solid damn snacks, like we ordered an avocado toast once thinking, sure yeah thing on bread sweet, nah you get this 3 tiered brioche decorated like an art piece.
AND THE DAMN PATISSERIE
Popping candy bon bons
Now the beer, craft beer in cape town is easy to get right but hard to be unique about. I'm completely fixed on this sand fish Weiss they have, never seen it anywhere but it's just damn lovely
I'm gonna stop rambling now, just come visit
What an amazing and special place!! They really went out of their way to make our experience absolutely spectacular! They made my cocktail look like a work of art and the food is to die for... I will be back to try all your patisseries - 10 out of 10 service - decor - food!!

I haven’t seen a place that does this much effort in detail... everything from the cup of coffee to the breakfast was out of this world! I cant wait to try their dining or lunch experience!! Hands on owner that definitely knows what he is doing.

I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience at Coco Safar, the whole experience was fantastic, starting off with a welcome drink at the Rooibos bar, we also got to try all of the different tonic waters, as well as some basil ice cream.
After the Rooibos bar, you move onto the main restaurant. For starters the usual bread arrives, then I had Calamari, and Amanda had the mussels, both were really great.
For mains, we both had the confit duck. A friend of ours had the mussels as a main, however his mussels were extremely salty, even after we sent it back, and a fresh batch made. It still wasn't right... We were told, it was made from the same stock as the starter mussels. It's a shame as I tried both the starter and the main, and although they were the same dish, the main was very salty and disappointing.
For desert we shared a variety. It's nice to go have a look at the desert bar, pick what you want and it comes back nicely plated with different types of sorbet.
The coffee is also great, if the owner is there he will tell you about the special machine was hand made specifically for the restaurant.
Overall a great dining experience and the food which I ordered was devine.
Voted a top ten restaurant in Cape Town I had to try it. It is new on the block only a year old. The restaurant takes up a large space of the Adelphi centre and has a very European feel. I couldn't decide if I liked the almost old fashioned feeling of the place....the menu is french inspired with a touch of Asian. Quite a combination. The owner, an Afrikaans South African no less that is worldly and very accomplished and creative, was in the restaurant and came to chat to us and filled us in on the story of the place. The food was good and offers good vegan options too. The coffee was ok...not my best and of course they serve it at the required temperature which I don't like. Most items on the menu are reasonably priced except the ridiculous R139 for a brisket sandwich. The pastries and decadent sweet treats are also pricey. This is definitely a place I'll go back to visit to see how it comes along.... Oh and the staff are really nice.
A gem! Elegant, refined with superb food. You can actually talk to people easily (rare of late- music too intrusive), and hold a business meeting. My choice from now on.
Have you ever walked passed a new restaurant so often that it almost becomes a fascinating curiosity? Coco Safar is just that to me, with the expansive amount of space it holds in the revamped Adelfi Centre, it can seem a bit intimidating. Where to start when there are so many options- bakery, brewery, restaurant...
We picked the restaurant for Sunday breakfast. The interior is incredible - velvet couches, heavy leather chairs and generally a vintage feel set in an industrial looking space. The staff are quite knowledgeable about the menu, which helps when there are so many (delicious) options!
Feeling adventurous I had the Turmeric Thyme hot latte and Mike had the indulgent sounding Carob, Orange and Cardamom hot latte. We were both super happy with our choices, his being quite sweet and mine having a bit of a bite. The food menu is drool worthy and our pick - the chicken waffle- did not disappoint. The chicken was deliciously coated in a fragrant mustard sauce which would have been satisfying alone. My only gripe is that the waffle was a bit dry and perhaps needed a bit more sauce.
Overall Coco Safar was an awesome experience, quick and friendly service, interesting menus and wonderful flavors. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Lunch at Coco Safar was quite possible one of the most enjoyable I’ve had in a while. The food was nothing short of deliciously healthy and super tasty, the venue is absolutely beautiful and the service is impeccable. I cannot wait to go back and try some more dishes from their menu.
Situated on Seapoint Main Road, the beautiful interior of the café is a welcomed sight. Quirky decor and warm setting helps one to relax.
There is a decent variety of pastries and ready-made sandwiches in the deli section.
The coffee was good. Served on a wooden board with sparkling water and “premium milk”.
The Passion Fruit bomb was refreshing and exotic. The accompanying passion fruit sorbet was just as pleasant.
