Nello's Restaurant on Marine Terrace has an excellent selection of pizzas and pastas and although the service was not fantastic, Brighton really did try his best and always had a smile on his face.
Nello's may look a little frayed around the edges but they make tasty pizzas and pastas at great prices!
Favourite starters: Oysters on ice served with lemon & Tabasco and their Focaccia with a green garlic sauce.
Their pastas are served with penne or spaghetti, and on my visit I loved the Fusilli in Corozza: a rich tomato sauce with prawns, mussels, and calamari grilled with mozzarella (photo attached).
Nello's also offers:
Seafood (hake),
Poultry (bullet, corden bleu & schnitzel),
From the Grill (T-Bone, rumps, rack of ribs & Eisbein),
Light Meals,
Toasties,
Combos served with chips and
Pizzas (Continental, Sylvanna, Pasquale, Paradiso, Ferrari, Popeye, Pirates, Nello's, La Nonna, Marinara, Maria's, Fabiolo etc)
*Recommendation: Just a note not to make the same mistake that I did - Nello's is closed on Mondays.
However they have a special to suite every taste for the rest of the week:
On Wednesdays, Nello's has a wonderful pizza special for R60;
On Thursdays they have a sweet & sour pork or chicken chow mien special for R50,
On Friday's all pastas are a mere R39 and
On Saturdays curry & rice will set you back only R40.
Really good food. Place called Little Portugal.
Oh my goodness the cheese pizza is amazing, listen dont have great expectations with regard to it being a classic Italian restaurant you will be sorely disappointed...it is in essence a bar that makes brilliant pizza
Most divine seafood pizza, my children loved the chicken n mushroom pizza, fresh and hot.
Food is good for the price
Beautiful Italian Restaurant with food that leaves you planning your next visit before you even leave Nello's
The emphasis is on the quality of the food rather than the fanciness of the establishment. The former is done extemely well; we make a point of lunching/dining here when visiting.
It is a awsome place to be live music on Wednesday and specials on their pizza
Really great food, friendly service, reasonable prices. Try the ribs!
Nothing fancy but great pizza and fair service.
Very good value for money. Lots of beers on tap
