One of the better places to visit for a lekker piece of chicken! Their food was really good, and their sweet potato chips is absolutely stunning!!!
Our waitress was Cindy, and the service was really friendly and good.
I did miss a good beer / craft beer selection, but then again: I went there to eat chicken!
Their prices are pretty fair, and for under R300 you can feed a family of 3/4.
Parking pretty easy, with car guards.

When last have you been to The Wedge Shopping Centre? They have upgraded the premises and added some new eateries. This being one of them - Roasting Jacks
I had dinner here and left feeling like a stuffed chicken myself. The food was soo good, I didn't manage to get to dessert even though I had my eye on their French Lemon Tart, and I've been told their Gingerbread Milkshakes are a winner.
What i did have though was an absolute feast. While waiting on my friend to arrive, I tried the Watermelon and Ginger Spritzer, nice and refreshing and a bit sweet, I was hoping for a bit more of that ginger punch to kick in.
When my friend arrived we ordered the Chai Lattes, and then got a variety of nibbles which Terrence suggested I.e. the blooming Onion which is "blooming" fantastic. The flavour profile makes you forget you are eating an Onion, we ordered that with the Roasted Garlic Mayo and Hotsauce and boy does that HOT🔥sauce have a punch 👊🏼. We shared some wings, also delicious, they flavour their food so well and its cooked to perfection. We also got to try the Coleslaw, Potato Salad (with RJ house Mayo and Pickles, still feels a bit bland), Spicy Corn Salsa (with chilli and Coriander personally it needs more kick), Sweet Potato fries (crinkle cut just adds to the flavour) and their Pickles.
Now onto the Chicken. Juicy flavourful and properly cooked the traditional rotisserieway, it's soo tender. Spiced with a secret blend which we could not figure out. I couldn't resist trying one of their sandwiches which caught my eye, so we shared the "Tequila Lime Chicken" Baguette - Rotisserie Chicken, Tequila, Fresh Lime, Chilli, Corn Salsa, Avocado, Cheddar Cheese, RJ House Mayo served on a beautiful fresh Baguette. Amazing. After this I couldn't attempt anything else as it's all just so good.
Before leaving I did have a shot of Leonista 100% Karoo Agave Spirit honey Reposado to keep the chills away.
Thanks to Terrence and Cindy for keeping us fed, our thirsts quenched and fantastic service.
A definite hidden gem at this shopping centre. Simple basic food done right, sufficient portion size. They do have some off the menu items which they are trying out. But what is On the menu ie. Chicken, Sides, Burgers, Sandwiches, Dessert and Salads will keep you coming back for more. Go check them out 👍🏻

Excellent chicken and service. A nice variety of chicken centric dishes. They also serve coffees and dessert.
The chicken here is awesome! I order a 1/4 chicken, some wings, their Dijon mayo and their potato salad. It was all great. The place is very clean and inviting. I look forward to going again soon.
So, I went past this little place to give some of their menu a bash.
Unfortunately there was a power outage so I couldn't sample everything I wanted to off the menu.
What I did try though was their Hot Chicken Burger with extra Cheddar.
Absolutely delicious. Definitely not hot enough for a hot, but the quality of food was amazing.
Will be back again soon.
The best roasted chicken I have ever had. Juicy inside and perfectly roasted outside.
Side dishes are amazing with spicy corn my fav. (the heat creeps up on you). Ginger milkshake to die for. Been there a couple of times and food consistant. Great servixe. A DEFINITE MUST VISIT
Chicken is amazing well flavoured and juicy. I tried their salads on two different occassions they were both nasty. Potato salad and some hard bits and the house salad had bitter lettuce which was not fresh.
Best chicken and wings but you must ask for the blue cheese dressing to go with. Their burgers are big and filled with flavor. Love the hot one.

There is a new Chicken in town, roasting at The Wedge Shopping Centre. Roasting Jacks opened late 2018 and their succulent offering is available both during lunch and at supper time. While you can pick up your Chick (or have it delivered via UberEats) and get on your bike, I would encourage you to sit down in the attractive dark wood, naked bulb Bistro.
You can expect a rotisserie Chicken flirting with the traditionally French, offering a variety of sides while keeping the spotlight fixated on the Chicken. Although to be fair, the deep-fried blooming onion is putting up quite a performance to steal the show, even with the Chicken showing a bit of leg.
The Chicken is cooked to perfection and served in generous amounts. RJ’s are very proud of their gourmet mayo that you may choose to dabble in. There is the RJ House Mayo, Dijon Mayo, Hot Mayo or even Hot Sauce, and my favourite, the Roasted Garlic Mayo.
With both crispy hand-cut potatoes and crinkle cut sweet potato on offer, I could not choose a favourite. Both appealed to my African Hips that do not lie and was delicious. I did not enjoy the cold potato salad with mayo and chopped pickles. I couldn’t quite put my taste bud on it, so I swallowed and moved on.
The freshly baked Baguette Plain or Sourdough is a must for me. Obviously not banting. Love me some fresh Sourdough and butter was not on the extinct list.
Even with coriander, I gave the Corn Slaw a miss as I’m old enough to leave the table without my Mammie forcing me to eat things I do not like. Slaw and I not being in the same WhatsApp group.
I did like the Spicy Corn Salsa which delivers a bit of an unexpected kick. @SirNoid did devour the RJ Pickle, and as he is not on Survivor it was not from hunger, but enjoyment.
I do want to mention the RJ Spritzer, made with Sparkling Water. I had the Mint and Lemonade and I do believe as the weather gets warmer, this is going to be a very popular list of thirst quenchers.
Strawberry and Thyme, Watermelon and Ginger, Cucumber, Basil and Celery (okay, maybe not that last one, but that is just my personal taste) sound dreamy.
I would like to give the Ceasar and RJ House Salad a try next time, but I know me, I’ll probably just order another Gingerbread Milkshake (wickedly delicious) but to be brutally honest, I feel I missed out not tasting the Espresso Brownie with caramelised white chocolate ganache so that will be my fifty shades of sugar.
