Great pizzas! There are really nice combinations available. They are nice thin crust bases with loads of topping! Buy on get one free on Mondays!
Great service and great food with reasonable prices. We had two pizzas on their buy 1 get 1 free Monday special. A lovely little local for us
We eat at Danilo's often because we live in the neighborhood. The manager and staff are very friendly and there's a nice relaxed vibe. The pizzas are great and they can churn out a spag bol for my kids in 10 minutes. The only negative is the adult's food often takes time to prepare in amongst takeaway orders.
Note that my review and rating is only for the pizza's which, for my family are the best in town - thin, crispy and tasty base, less rather than more cheese and tasty toppings - although we still order the Tikka (chicken) from the old menu (before the change of ownership). Don't really like the new menu or selections of pizza/pasta thereon.

On my first visit to this neighborhood local in the heart of Riverclub I thought that Danilo's Ristorante Italiano was in fact linked to Danilo's Trattoria (Edenvale's favorite Italian restaurant), but was corrected on this point. They in fact just have a similar name and cuisine.
As we walked in, I noticed an outside patio (beer garden) and although dated, the interiors look both authentic and homely. Danilo himself was there to greet us with his charming smile and to make some recommendations on what their specials of the day were. I was interested to learn from him, in his broken English that he has his roots in Milan to thank for his long history in the restaurant industry.
The food itself had too much rice on it and for the prices that we paid, there was not enough of it I thought. Even my calamari starter had been filled up with rice, but plating aside, my veal was delicious!
Full review to follow, but on my first visit, I enjoyed the meal despite it being pricey for what you are getting.

When we moved into Randburg in 1999, Luigi's Pizzeria was in Boskruin centre, as well as in All Saints Centre, Olivedale. We visited the Boskruin restaurant a few times to enjoy your yum Halloumi starter and pizzas. Met the owner Alec there on a few occasions. Never been to the Olivedale branch.
Beginning of 2023 the Boskruin branch closed down. For our 31st anniversary on the 25th July, we decided to visit Luigi's at Olivedale. Wow, it is a huge restaurant!!!!!! As you enter there are high 'bar tables' to sit at ... an upstairs area with comfy couches, quite a few tables as well as murals painted on the walls. Downstairs is a big area with a Jetmaster - and on the outside separated from the downstairs with glass, another big seating area - also for smokers. With a few Jetmasters as well.
Just before 7pm and the place was buzzing! We chose an inside table, close but not too close to the roaring Jetmaster! The menu .... this must be 1 of the few restaurants with a limited menu - LOVED IT!!!!! There are a few starters, a few salads, pizzas, pastas, desserts and kid's menu. How refreshing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Started with a decaf coffee for hubby and a cappu for me. Ordered the chicken livers starter to share with Mozzarella focaccia. Delicious!!!! That chicken liver sauce ....
Got surprised with a slice of Lemon Cheesecake to share. I normally don't indulge in desserts, but this cheesecake was light, lemony and fluffy. Hein then sprinkled some of the Parmesan powder onto the cheesecake .... it was delicious!!!!!
Hein chose the Luigi's special pizza (topside mince, fresh tomato, onion and chilli) - it was delicious. (I stole some of the crusts.) My choice was the Spinach cannelloni - ordered the regular (3 tubes) and it arrived hot, cheesy and bubbly. Was just yum!!!!!!!
This place is a must visit! The vibe is cosy (with the fireplaces and heaters) and the food is 'deliziosa!'

Wow! What a great place! Lovely food, served fast and hot even to a large group for a work farewell. The owner even showed his face and made a joke, which was lovely! Tables were kept neat and drinks were refreshed often. Great atmosphere even early on a Friday evening.
The spicy chicken liver pizza is definitely something to try.
First order from Luigi's on Mr D - impeccable delivery from the sealed boxes ensuring hygienic standards, the chilli, parmesan and garlic included and the divine pizzas! Awesome! Thoroughly recommend Luigis, cant wait to dine on site!
Date night great outing and food very good
I'm surprised that Luigi's isn't busier. The pizzas and pastas are delicious. The fold over pizzas are monstrous and the wine sings.
Friendly staff and very quick service although it was not all that busy.
Had a lovely dinner hear next to the fireplace on a cold evening and it was relaxing, tranquil and the perfect end to an evening.
Hope things pick up for you guys. Doing it the Italian way Right!
I have been going to luigi's for the better part of a decade and I have never ever been disappointed. Great fresh food and fatamstic staff. Their pricing is great and you definitely get more than what you pay for. Thank you luigi's and uncle Al for the years of good memories.

Placed an order on Mr D and had a few things delivered, one of them was a pizza for myself. Had a bite of it and something didn't taste right. Called in and spoke to Alec the owner and he was great. Sent a replacement pizza without hesitation. Great service and thank you Alec!
