Lovely place with affordable prices. I'd recommend it to anyone.
We chose Cilatros for our anniversary dinner and we were very happy we did. Friendly staff. Awesome variety and tasty food. The beef might be a a little undercooked for my taste, but the other orders were just too top notch for my rating to come down. Had an amazing time with the wife. Keep up the good work!
Meze platter is a must share starter, however it should be shared between a table of 6 or more as it was a lot and might ruin your space to complete a main meal. There are a variety of main meals to choose from and there are plenty of veg options as well.
Came to Cilantros for lunch with my best friend. The lady at the door was absolutely fantastic and sweet. Led me to my table over looking the square. Our waitress Sbukele was the absolute best. Check up on us but not to a point where it was annoying. I ordered the 8 queen prawns. The size of the prawns was great. The portion of fries since I opted for just fries was also fantastic. I did not finish my meal due to size but it was delicious. Having chopped green chili would have been great. My friend ordered the nachos as well as ribs and chips. The nachos were great. She literally got 3 chips lol with her 4 ribs. All the ladies who were working today (22/06/19) were fantastic. I would return and I would recommend this place. I gave it a 4 because the price for oysters was just absolutely ridiculous.
The staff is really friendly and everything else was on point. The ambiance of it is quite exquisite. I had an oxtail that had mashed potato on the side and I cleaned off the plate and it was amazing.
My most favorite restaurant in Sandton City! I've reviewed this place already but I keep coming back for more 😁. Carnivores and Vegetarians (like me) are both going to be happy eating at this establishment! Attached some pics of my favorites I.e. Veg taco's, grilled halloumi and Nachos. Must try them!
I cannot bI can't believe that I had walking past this restaurant for so long. On this day, I walked in and I did not regret my decision. I love beautiful #spaces. They just make the food taste better.
I loved the ambiance inside. Opted for the outside area which was just as enchanting.
I came on a full stomach and so I had dessert. I had the cheesecake and red velvet cake. (I can still taste it when I close my eyes). It was divine.
Chicken and prawns was ordered as well, and the report I received was that it was good - this is from an eater who is not fussy.
I will definitely go back to try out some more dishes.

Nice location on Mandela Square (you’ll have the statue 10 meters away), positive ambience, delicious food. We had the penne agli asparagi, a board to share (loved it), calamari, fried camambert and figs, zucchini fries. We were here for dinner, lights on the square were on, nice setting.
Had my birthday lunch at Cilantro yesterday. The food was delicious especially the queen prawns. Friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

During my Johannesburg trip, I went a few times to Nelson Mandela Square at Sandton for having food. Nelson Mandela Square is a place filled with restaurants and teeming with activity and people. Cilantros is a nice cosy restaurant that I went to a few times for having lunch and dinner. I tried their Mexican Quesadillas which was amazing. The quesadillas had very nice filling of meat and was very well prepared, though I needed Coke to push it down. The waitress was helpful, and she only suggested me to go for this preparation. Later that night, I went again to Cilantros and ordered a Minestrone soup which was lovely, and a Penne Asparagi pasta. The soup was served hot and in a very big bowl. There was no salt or pepper in it, so I guessed that they probably serve it that way only. Anyway, I added salt and black pepper to my taste and voila, it was a good appetizer for my pasta. The pasta was served with shredded garlic and cheese flakes. The garlic served as a good ingredient over the pasta and contributed to its taste.
The portion sizes served by this restaurant are very big. In fact, I could not finish Quesadillas when I went for lunch and pasta in dinner. Hence, if you are a couple visiting this place and are not very hungry, you might as well order just one dish and that might suffice!
There is also an option of outdoor seating, if the weather permits. A place worth visiting!
