Visit Jack Salmon weekly and have never had a bad meal. Was there last night and had delicious prawns.
Shaun and Pieter are fantastic and all the staff are very good and friendly.
The only negative was that last night we found out that you have gone back to the stir fry vegetables. Our table of 4 were very disappointed as we love your pumpkin �
broccoli � and cauliflower. Please bring these delicious vegetable back. And just a suggestion you could just bring back the broccoli and pumpkin if it’s a case of costs.

Jack Salmon, with branches spread across Kwazulu Natal has long been recommended to me as being a super seafood destination at decent prices so it was naturally a choice on a recent stay here.
Ambiance: 3/5. Jack Salmon Fish House's website: "Where exceptional seafood and world class views meet" misled me to expect stunning sea views whilst enjoying my meal here recently.
Unfortunately, however, at their branch in Tiffany’s Centre (Salt Rock), that was not the case and I could not be sure that this quotation held true, as we sat down to enjoy our meal with concrete car park views recently.
If it is ambiance that you are after, and some semblance of truth in the statement above, I cannot speak for the Hillcrest or Berea branches views, but I'd recommend a drive to their original Glen Ashley branch.
Food: 5/5. Contrary to the view/ambiance expected, Jack Salmon's website did ring true to its claim of "sourcing only the freshest seafood available" and we thoroughly enjoyed both our sushi and seafood here. Preparation and plating were picture perfect, whilst being incredibly tasty and good portion size. In fact, even the non-seafood daily specials were tasty and freshly prepared. I could not fault it! The highlight for me has to be their SUnut or sushi donut.
Service: 4/5. Service was a little slow, but friendly.
I was pleased to see and hear the owner stop by this franchise though, whilst we were having lunch to check that all was going smoothly with the lunch service (and to have a meeting). It shows attention to detail and service.
*Recommendation: Good food and several affordable daily specials make this a convenient stop for those looking for a quick meal whilst doing some shopping. However, if it is sea views and super seafood that you are after, I highly recommend simply making the effort to drive to the original Jack Salmon in Glen Ashley instead.

A bit of an obscure location but enjoyed a quiet birthday lunch with friends. Seafood was definitely superior in quality and taste. Fresh and fun twists to the usual boring seafood dishes. Overrall above average and offers a nice alternative to other seafood franchises that have in my opinion become pretty bland.
Only high praise goes to management and staff... we arrived on a very busy new year without a reservation and the manager went out of his way to accommodate us, without making us feel uncomfortable... our waitron, Sizwe, was incredible... now onto dinner... absolutely stunning... I had the prawns 🍤 with Jacks speciality sauce, and the only downside is that their wasn’t enough... the creamy Neapolitan base was complimented with rich aromatic flavors creeping through... so delicate and yet bountiful at the same time .... the creme brûlée was sensational, my all time fav desert done to perfection... I have to mention that I have not had such a wonderful dining experience in ages.... this time I could almost say that the ambiance, food, and staff out shone my company.... almost 😉😘
What a surprise finding this gem in the middle of a shopping Centre ! We received a warm welcome from the manager and waiter who assisted my fiancé in finding a good vegetarian option on the menu . I had a variety of sushi which was fresh and packed with flavor. I was particularly impressed with the tuna - succulent and fresh ! A rare find in most other seafood restaurants which store tuna in the fridge for weeks ! Definitely going back there soon !
Food:
We ordered a variety of different dishes like bam bam rolls, sushi nadare, bean curd and prawn fushion. My favourite was the prawn fashion & sushi nadare but overall they were all delicious! We then finished off with death by brownies & creme brûlée- INCREDIBLE.
Ambience:
The restaurant wasn't very busy but we sat inside & it was lovely.
Service:
The service was very impressive! Our sushi came very quickly & the waiter was friendly. Overall had a lovely experience & hope to return in the near future!
Went to Durban for the day and this was a restaurant that we have pre-read and very excited to try. The su-nut was as delicious as it was advertised. Petty that there were only one flavour.. would have liked to eaten more. The waiter was very hospitable & su-nuts aren't in any of the menus! Be sure to ask the team for it.
The food is out of this world! I don't think there is anything on the menu that doesn't taste amazing. The staff are very helpful and service is good. The staff are very accommodating with people with food allergies too. Been back there twice in one week whilst on holiday, and will be back for more!

By far the best Sushi in Ballito, friendly staff, consistent meal quality with a great atmosphere. Don't forget to get there early for the sushi specials. Wide variety of food to cater for the whole family. Try the deep fried brownie for desert, its a winner. Gets really busy during the holidays so don't forget book a table.
We've just eaten here for the first time, the food was absolutely delicious, service excellent and ambience great, loved everything about the place, will definitely be back xxx
