Wife had steak which was soft and tasty. I had a bacon and cheddar burger that was quite nice.
View overlooked the valley which was quite nice. Started getting busy around 7 pm
This place is lovely!! Great food with great service.
Highly recommended: The Trout (not fully cooked all the way through.. leave it slightly pink in the middle) with some veggies😍
The menu is quite a large leaving you with so many delicious options to choose from! And giving you more of a reason to come back again and try something different😉
Our waitress was an absolute gem... so friendly with a lovely sense of humor 😄
It has a great view as well which makes the ambience amazing! What a great atmosphere 👏
Spending a night in Sabie our host recommended African Elephant. The outside area has a beautiful view and the waiters were very friendly and mindful.
I had the mixed cuts (lamb, rump and boerewors) really enjoyed it , Keamo had the trout and really enjoyed it. The prices are also very reasonable.
Only bad thing is that the restaurant has 3 TV’s but will only play rugby on all 3.
Love love love their food. If you like curry. You have to try their Mutton Curry.. with Mash.. it is to die for. I have been there a few times and will always go back, not yet have I had the slightest bit of disappointment. Staff is verrry friendly. You have to try it.
Very friendly waitress. We ordered Mexican pizza , and avo salad, really yummy. Be careful its hot)))))) good service. Recommending this place.
Loved the food and ambiance...................................................................................................................
We had warthog carpaccio as starter, wildebeest Medaillons and FigTree Steak as main courses. Everything was excellent! The rustic atmosphere completed the whole experience.
There is a little bit of everything for everyone.
I had the oxtail and my partner had the chicken sandwich. The prices are reasonable and the ambience is great, if indoors. Too many smokers sit outside to dine.
The food was really good.
I loved the view over the misty mountains in the background.
I would recommend!
Wow! I couldn't believe how delicious the chicken schnitzel was, and made fresh on the premises. Luna was also a veey friendly and attentive waitress. I would definitely recommend 👌
What a pleasant surprise of food in such a small town. Recommended to anyone visiting Sabie. We had prawns, eishbein and lamb curry. Food was so good we need an afternoon nap! Service was excellent as well. Friendly staff! A must!
We ate both of our nights in Sabie at the African Elephant restaurant. We enjoyed it very much. First time we had a special, the traditional Potjie (stew). I had oxtail my friend had lamb, both were very tasty. Then we asked the restaurant for a Bobotie for our second night. They didn’t have it on the menu but they were so kind to prepare it specifically for us. It was also really good and tasty as well. We also tried the baked cheesecake and malva pudding, both were lovely as well. We had a wonderful time and the staff was super friendly, as was the owner. The fireplace was perfect, as we were visiting at the start of winter.
We enjoyed a good lunch at African Elephant. The service staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was very good. Only disappointment was they didn’t have all the menu items in stock. The view is great as you sit on the deck looking at the mountains. Pricing is quite good for the food quality food. Overall very enjoyable lunch stop!
We stopped here for a quick bite. Amazing food steak grilled to perfection. Friendly staff, knowing we where not from around here she pointed out a few places and told us about about the area. A must add on your trip!!!
Very good service. The Eisbein was lekker. Drinks came fast. I recommend you stop here for a drink and some chow. Thanks guys
I had Springbok Carpaccio and it was perfect from presentation to stomach. I recommend everyone that pass through Sabie to make a turn at the African Elephant.
