My son and I drop in every now again for a meal and a beer. Consistently good service and excellent food! Definitely our favourite spot for a good steak or even a burger.
My favorite place in Rondebosch! Our study abroad group ate here multiple times during our visit and had Frankie as our host, she rocked! Thanks for letting us dine and serving us great food & wine, Cheers!
I was lucky enough to get a table on a Saturday evening because they are pretty booked up. So firstly I'd recommend making a booking. Secondly, the steaks were cooked to perfection. Hussar Grill does not mess around! I enjoyed a lovely steak roll which was massive and my partner enjoyed his impressive Impala steak cooked Rare. For desert we tried out the chocolate fondant, it was devine. Then before we left we received complimentary chocolate vodka martini's.. This place just kept blowing our minds away.
We were served by a gentleman named Damian and I'd like to give 5 stars to him too!

The steaks were really great, full of flavor and my steak was grilled to perfection. My wife’s on the other hand was medium instead of well-done. Besides my wife’s steak not being done as requested I also think the steak knives are due for a change, they were pretty blunt.
While on holiday in Cape Town, we decided to try it out. We were pleasantly surprised that the food and service delivered on their reputation of a great steak house. The rib eye steak with special butter was the best ever and the battered onion rings were delicious too. The have a great wine selection to choose from and do also allow corkage.
We enjoyed it so much that we went back a week later again, this time with our 8 month old. The food was still great, it was just a little cramped to have a busy baby with us. So have an adult night out when trying.
Very popular spot. A reservation is always good to make. Was introduced to pork belly at this location. I fell in love with the crispy crackling. Fatty pork and creamy mash. Big enough to share and so filling.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff but service is a bit slow. However, the food is definitely worth the wait. I would definitely recommend this restaurant

The service was not that great but to be expected in a busy restaurant like this. The food was excellent and steaks were grilled to perfection. The reastaurants decor made us feel at home and all the staff were friendly, the manager recieved us and took us to the table we reserved. DEFINITELY recommend this to any meat lovers.
No question about it, this was the best steak I have ever eaten! It was buttery soft and flavourful and the pepper sauce with it with delivered just the right amount of punch. No faulting the service either which was friendly, knowledgable and servers were neither pushy nor invasive.
100% would recommend to everyone.
Steaks are melt in your mouth experience over and over. You can't go wrong. This is old steakhouse.flair at its best....only crit would be roast veg was.not roasted...but was tasty...asked for olive oil didn't get it....but they were super busy.

On a bitterly cold mid week evening my brother and I decided to treat ourselves to an evening at an old favorite, Hussar Grill.
Much has been spoken of the Hussar Grill since the recent Spur group takeover with many of its critics claiming that the standard of food has gone down and the quality simply isn't there anymore. I admittedly agreed with this consensus having had less than desirable experiences at a number of the Hussar branches around Cape Town (excluding the Rondebosch branch).
I was pleasantly surprised on Wednesday evening. From the outset the experience was fantastic. We were lured into a warm, inviting atmosphere buzzing with excitement and happiness from a venue full of satisfied customers. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic and eager to please (features that are sadly becoming quite rare in Cape Towns restaurant industry).
On recommendation we ordered the sirloin on the bone. This generous chunk of beef was perfectly prepared to our cooking requirements and complimented by a generous portion of golden fries. A must have for any steak lover out there looking to satisfy that craving!
A wonderful experience that will most certainly be enjoyed in the not so distant future, fantastic!
