My family has been coming to Schwabinger Stuben for over 20 years. Whilst some things have changed over the years, they have kept and stuck to the basic german menu, which is still tremendously good and, most importantly, affordable. Will be coming back for more.
Great variety of German beers. The food comes in huge portions and everything tastes great. Look out for the Cordon bleau...it is mouthwatering.

I love the nook and crannieness of schwabinger. Lots of little areas around the place. Great for all occasions, cheerful and cheapish.
They have a page of schnitzels. A page. One has pineapple on it. No, really, pineapple, slices of canned pineapple.
So i had an eisbein. It was an eisbein. I've had better. But still great. Good kraut and mash.

Wonderful atmosphere (they have a beer garden) and the whole place has a really authentic German feel. The most divine food! Great service and the beer is fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised by this little gem in Randburg. Try the Eisbein- best in Joburg -or any of their schnitzels with a side order of spatzel and sauerkraut. And please don’t miss out on the strudel it’s the most wonderful thing on the menu It’s not fine dining so don’t expect anything fancy but for a great beer and a casual relaxed lunch this place is just the ticket. So nice to find good German food so close to home, best German food I’ve had outside of Germany. We will definitely be back.
I have been to this authentic German restaurant a few times because they have a large menu with interesting things to try. My issue with it however is that the service is sometimes excellent and other times REALLY bad and I have left there without leaving a tip in the past (and I can tip extremely well). The ambience is great with many different little areas to sit, which makes it unique in its own right. Companies love it for year end lunches.

Good taste... good cousin... bit slow the service but totally worthy.... we came to experience a German food and it doesn't disappoint us at all
This place has such a nice atmosphere with very good value for money! The food is delicious, large portions. All round good experience - every time!
Best food and first German restaurant I've been too... the ambiance is awesome and waiter very friendly. Children restaurant too and believe this food amazing for them
