This is a great place to visits after work to grab a drink and just unwind. They have a grate selection if drink and also offer craft beer by draft or bottle.
The place normally attracts a party crowd later into the evening and becomes rather busy but each to their own when it comes to joining or not.
They also offer a nice food selection, from meals to baskets, something to eat before going crazy with the drinks.
Overall a great place to come unwind.

Food is packed with flavour (especially when they have food specials going on) and if you have not tried their Dead Chef hot sauces then I would strongly suggest that you do if you like a bit (or a lot) of spice to your meal. Service has always been great and waiters have always been welcoming. The atmosphere is vibey and a great spot to meet up with friends, catch up on stories while welcoming the hangover for the next morning.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and an accommodating environment for a group of friends on a night out. Only aspect I did not enjoy was the kind of music played (modern hits that students will appreciate) but it won't keep me from returning. Will enjoy many more happy nights there. Great food and real value for money. Staff is slow during the less busy times and a bit more on the ball during very busy times, but always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Great for when there are major games - rugby, football, etc, - happening!

Good old Baracas, have been going here for years and always end up having a good time. Staff is friendly but could be more efficient at the bar. However, this is a place where you can just enjoy the company of friends, and even a few random strangers. Never eaten here, but having a drink with some mates never disappoints.

Was here on a rainy Saturday evening for drinks with my bestie. We were warmly welcomed and it was good to see they had a fire going at the fireplace. It's a spacious yet cosy bar (we sat in the non-smoking section, which was also quieter as they weren't playing music there) and great for catching a game at any time. I ordered one of their baskets (forgot the name) which came 'well-stocked'. They definitely weren't stingy. As baskets go, it was edible, nothing exceptional. But enjoyable. <br/><br/>For a Saturday night, the section we sat in wasn't packed, which made it even more enjoyable. Bars can get packed and super loud such that you can't hear yourself speak over the voices and TV or music. <br/><br/>They were also gracious enough to give us samples of their craft beers as we were undecided as to what to order. Overall a great place and would certainly return again, especially on a chilly winter evening to enjoy the fire🔥

If you want a good burger and tasty chicken wings, great place to go to. Love the fact that you get to sit in a 'beer garden', yet you sit under a big tree, listening to the rustle of the leaves<br/> Not sure if they still do the Tuesday special on burgers, but if they do- just do it. Big patties, with all sorts of tasty goodies that has the greatest of parties within your mouth. It feels like the burger buns have gone smaller though and they aren't as fresh as they used to be. Still great burgers.

Decided to have drinks and dinner with friends here. Phoned and made a reservation for 8 people. When we got there they didn't reserve a big enough table for us. The table could only seat 6 people. Friends had to sit on high bar stools next to us. Not very comfortable. The outside seating area is a bit dark, would have been great if they had little lanterns on the tables to be able to read the menu. Service was ok. Food was great! And the craft beer was good. Would think twice before going there again.

Nice place to go to with friends. Good atmosphere with reasonably priced pub food which was of a good quality. Just drinks would be perfect as well. The separate bar area has a party atmosphere with contemporary and classic rock music. Cigars and whiskey are also available. Showed football and rugby. Open fires in winter are a great addition.

Baracas, you never disappoint me! ❤️❤️❤️Great place for lunch, and also for weekends with friends. The service is brilliant, the staff is friendly and helpful. The vibe is very nice, it feels like a "classy" pub. They've got a lot of beers to choose from and you can get coffee, even if it is late!

Had a fun night with the girls, love the trendy atmosphere and the decor, really beautifully designed. <br/><br/>Nice and busy, was nice to be in a place that was full, drank a few beers and had a few shots, Jaggermeister was served nice and cold! <br/><br/>Our Barman, Duncan was so helpfull he helped us very efficiently and fast, he even kept my Laptop for me in the office, so I could actually relax while I have a drink! <br/><br/>The food going past us looked amazing, very delicious! Ordered the Buffalo wings for lunch and an appletiser. The drink was warm. I waited for the food for a long time. When the food finally arrived the chicken wings were not fresh and seemed to have been prepared the day before and just "warmed up" then basted with sauce. <br/><br/>Definitely not going back there again.

In the separate bar area was a thirtieth birthday party- it had been positively cooking!<br/>I had Beer Battered Fish served with home made tartare sauce, a delightful fresh salad and old fashioned slap chips. The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly.<br/>My husband had the Makulu Burger: 2 patties, bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, beef schnitzel & cheese and pepper sauce. Topped with huge onion rings and served with slap tjips.<br/>Ambitious to say the least!<br/>If you come to Baracas, be sure to come hungry. Quantity as well as quality food with friendly service

Drinks with the coworkers. Had some really old whiskey and some really fresh food. Overall I enjoyed the place, and I liked the atmosphere. Service was decent, but not the best in the world. The Pub food is really great, and I can wholeheartedly recommend any of the baskets.

Surprised by the quality of the food! Definately not what you would be expecting from a bar. The prices are fantastic for what you are getting. The chef adds a unique take on burgers and offers mouthwatering desserts. The atmosphere of the upmarket bar assists in enhancing the layed back dining experience.
