My first visit to Foo Jiu and a really pleasant one. I popped in for my lunch break and ordered a two for one sushi special. Very friendly and efficient service. My food was placed on my table so fast after ordering. The sushi was a bit thin, but soo delicious. Prices are affordable and you get good quality! Would 100% come here again.
My first visit to this establishment. Friendly staff, pricing not so competitive as I expected.
Very surprised to find only two sets of chopsticks with this pretty large order.
Ginger could have been a bit more as I specifically asked if there would be enough or if I should order extra.
Seems like a great selection of drinks available.
Our first sushi visit in PE. This lovely relaxed eatery was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. Super fresh, value for money, efficient, friendly service. Even the lovely owner came to chat with everyone. If we lived here, we'd be regulars. But will come again next time we visit PE.
Had a great sushi platter 32 piece see the photos attached. The restaurant was really quiet and there is limited parking but the waiters and the atmosphere with the ambient music made it an enjoyable experience for the evening. Definitely will be back again as I and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our sushi
I’ve been to Foo Jiu over 15 times (if not more) And I’ve never been disappointed!
The service is always very good, staff are helpful and friendly. And the food is fantastic! The sushi is made to order and always FRESH, I love all the platters and look forward to their monthly promos.
I would highly recommend their sushi platters and the rest of their sushi varieties along with their great quality starters and main meal offerings!
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant in Port Elizabeth. The Chow Mein and Sushi were delicious, and the staff was always friendly and attentive. Whether dining in or getting take away, the food was consistently satisfying. The ambience and atmosphere added to the overall pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended!
This is one of our favourite spots. The staff are lovely, so accommodating and friendly! Yes, the wait can be a little long, but honestly the quality makes it very worth it. It's a fantastic place to come if you want to just sit and relax and chat to friends or family. They don't rush you out like so much people do! Great vibes, before and after the renovation!
Had a awesome time! The food was great and fresh and the service was friendly and energetic!
Been going here for years and we have never had bad food. The sushi is best in town.
Earlier in the week my partner and I decided to go for Chinese cuisine. After searching on the internet we came across Foo Jiu in Walmer and gave it a try. What a good decision it turned out to be.
The restaurant was fairly busy. The ambience was great and my partner described it as unique. Not too sure what she meant by that but maybe not the type of decor you came across very often. It was certainly a unique experience.
We both had a Castle Lite (R26 each) and my partner had a second. It was quite a choice to make seeing that the menu is very extensive. We went for a crispy pork balls (R78) and a sweet and sour stir-fried chicken (R72). Both dishes were served with fried rice.
Let me start off with the crispy pork balls. I had this dish before at another venue but I can honestly say that this was a lot better. It was excellent. It was a decent portion and the chunky onion and greenpeppers were crisp. The sauce was served separately and it was very good, enough to soak the rice into.
I was very surprised with the sweet and sour chicken, especially when the menu stated that it was stir-fried. Normally stir-fried refers to julienne style meat and vegetables. It refers to ingredients cut into strips. The chicken was, however, also crumbed and served in balls like the pork. The onions and greenpeppers were exactly the same as with the pork balls. The only difference was that the chicken and vegetables were served on the sweet and sour sauce. Maybe that is how the restaurant serves the dish. My partner really enjoyed the dish but I would have preferred the original stir-fried method, without the crumbs and prepared in a wok.
The one dessert that caught our attention was the deep fried ice cream (R48). We decided to try one to share. An absolute must.
A special thanks to Bongani. The service was good but not intrusive.
We will definitely give it another try.
