Review Muse Restaurant - Port Elizabeth

Muse has become my number 1 favourite restaurant in the Eastern Cape. The food presentations never disappoints, the food itself is devine as I’ve had most of the what’s on the menu, there’ll be new additions soon I was told (can’t wait), the atmosphere is always giving positive vibes and calming. The staff is great 😌 …… I always recommend this place to all friends visiting, one day I’ll take my Mom here, she’ll love it. Keep it up guys!!

Went to the new location and it looks much better than the previous one. The steak was nice and tender and the mushrooms on the side were very nice. Vanilla Pod Crème Brulee Mille Feuille was really nice amd sweet the strawberries really added to the flavour and was nice and crispy and overall probably one of the best places to get steak in PE.

It was my first time trying Muse and we had such a great time. The food was out of this world and the level of service was impeccable.

I was invited to share a friend's birthday celebrations. This place is awesome! The food was absolutely top notch and the service unbeatable. 5 Star for certain. Keep it up. Great high-five to our waiter... thanks for a delightful evening.

I was just so happy to find a good, delicious 'fine-dining' restaurant in PE!!! They have the highest rating and we just have to try it. We were not wrong. The restaurant is situated in what I called a not-so-busy melville-looking area and very wooden/leather-styled restaurant. We were there at 16h00ish so the restaurant was not busy and they were setting up for dinner service. When we looked through their menu, we preferred their starter options more. We ordered 4 starters, 2 mains and 3 desserts. What was nice is that the two starters we started with was light in taste and the last two had the stronger flavours. The mains were also light but very flavourful. The desserts were the bestest; not too sweet, the right balance of sweet to salty with a nice cup of cappuccino to go with it. Overall, we had a wonderful meal. The service from the waiters were good and friendly. Their prices are on the high side considered it is fine-dining but not ridiculous expensive. It's worth the money.

The chef takes pride in his creations. Lamb shank was brilliant. Best I have ever had at a restaurant. A few us ordered the same and each plate had the same exceptional quality. Will definitely recommend the menu and the establishment. Service was fantastic too.

Excellent food! I had the best butter chicken ever there. The service is great, too. Really a fun place to have a great meal! We will be back!

Work function. Our waiter was just amazing. Friendly, helpful, not intrusive but available when needed. The food was excellent. I'm still daydreaming about the chocolate torte days later.

Such a great place! I can’t describe how nice our evening was. Beginning with the service: Josh was our waiter, who was super friendly and helpful. I went with the beer recommendation (Jack Black, see picture) he gave me, which turned out to be great. Food: I had the Rainbow Platter (see picture) which was not only prepared beautifully, but also absolutely delicious. Atmosphere: The cooking team works in an open kitchen, which adds to the great vibe of the restaurant. The interior (i liked the ceiling) and the music selection (not too loud, you can have a good conversation) contributed their part to the great atmosphere.

The presentation of these meals are 5 star. Taste wise the chicken butter and duck were brilliant however the lamb pizza was rock hard , pity. Baked cheese cake was amazing. Good service as well.

The best of the best! Love this place, its people and vibe. Food is beautiful, creative and mindblowing. Worked our way through the cocktail menu too and all were delicious! Thank you!!

Brilliant all-round! The food quality and plating is exquisite. The ambiance is very romantic and we got the best service from our waitress, Pippa. The menu is extensive with several different mains to choose from. I can’t believe I only discovered this place now. Will definitely not be our last visit! A must for all foodies 🍴

Very interesting menu and a wide variety of main dishes to choose from, each with something special. We were part of a small birthday group and the smallish restaurant accommodated us well. From the gin welcome drinks, to the best duck samosa starters. The oxtail main was out of this world, finished off with caramel fondant desert definitely to be recommend. Smaller portions makes tasting everything possible. We really had an enjoyable evening.

It states on their bio that they see food as an art form and the chefs as artists and having experienced the food at Muse I can honestly say they hold up to this statement. The care and love Allan puts into every dish shows his passion and zest for cooking. He certainly takes you on a culinary experience and it was such a pleasure to see him in his element, doing what he does best. I would encourage everyone to go and enjoy a meal at Muse, you won’t be disappointed.

The ambience was lovely, beautiful setting. The service we received was out of this world, absolutely loved our waiter. Mains were a little bit of a let down, the presentation was fantastic but taste was not for me. I order Smoked Pork Belly, unfortunately it is not like a traditional pork belly there is no crackling, and the smoke of the meat was a little sharp for my pallette. Deserts were amazing we had 4 different options and they were all good. I would definitely recommend slice of the cakes.

Thank you for a fine dining experience. It was my daughter's birthday and she completely loved it. The food was great! She thoroughly enjoyed her pork belly meal. They also offered her a sweet birthday treat. The whole family enjoyed their dishes... the beef short rib is delicious; my son had a lamb rump and was blown away. We'll definitely be coming back.

The entire experience was amazing! Right from making the reservation (a simple fb message) and our knowledgeable and interpersonally sensitive waiter to the food which was to die for! Lots of vegetarian options for us and our waiter’s recommendations were spot on! The pork belly and Muse bowls came highly recommended by friends and the risotto and the falafel butter curry were just superb! The desserts - the caramel fondant - amazing and unlike any dessert you’ve ever tried!! Compliments to the chef and waiters - we’ll be back for more!

One night in PE whilst working last week and checked to see where to eat - FB and TripAdvisor were unanimous and I can see why. Dinner for 4 and each of us thought this was our best meal of the week from CPT to PE on our travels. My short rib with corn salsa and chipotle aioli was packed with flavour - the corn and the aioli providing relief to the sticky meaty short rib - the smoked pork belly also went down well as well as the lamb shank My dessert of caramel fondant, chocolate ganache, salt, almonds and vanilla ice cream was a Magnolia computed symphony of toasty comforting and indulgent flavours and my colleagues Dark chocolate delice with Guinness ice cream also got rave reviews It’s a long way from London to come for dinner but I would recommend anyone local or visiting who loves flavour without fuss, and service without stuffiness to visit but do book - rammed on a Thursday evening and deservedly so

Thank you allan and simone your restaurant remains one of the best to offer a great variety of foodies and a few places that offer corkage, I may not visit often but I know when I do the menu is of top quality and your service from back of house your constant nature of approaching each table making sure each diner gets the best service money can buy is just so appreciative, a testament to what us of chef's value in service keep up the amazing service and quality of food produced and simi we defos starting desserts first next time because yal mains filled us up I needs to try your impeccable desserts

We had a lovely evening at Muse tonight. Food and service excellent. Great menu, so difficult to decide what to order. Flavour and texture combinations, quality ingredients, as well as the way each dish was plated, all the extra little touches, the owner/chef visiting each table, made it a 5 star experience. Can't believe this is in PE. I'd give you a Michelin star.

Went to Muse 2 weeks ago and reviewed you on Google. Went again tonight for dinner with my husband for our anniversary and had another very special evening at Muse. Your restaurant is a real hidden gem of PE. Your dishes are beautifully presented and delicious, the service is equally as good. Thank you again, so very much. Very special place. PS. Do yourselves a favour - order the deep fried nougat with rose water ice cream!

Had the butternut gnocchi for main. What a wonderful dish. � Perfect size. So much flavor. The waiter was great and knew the dishes back to front. Highly recommend.

Cannot but give praise for this small but fantastic establishment. Came in from Cape Town for the weekend and have recently eaten and cape towns best spots. This compares right up there with the best in food quality, service and just general overal experience! Genuinely wish you all the best as the owners passion is running through the resturant and hope to hear more great things from this little spot.

Had an amazing night at Muse with family, good wine and even better food. The duck and plum sauce starter and pulled beef and mushroom risotto was FANTASTIC!! Topped off with excellent service! 5 stars all the way!

Had my sister’s bridal shower here and could not fault anything! The food was out of this world and on request they baked us an amazing cake. All of the arrangements were done via email and I never waited to long for a reply. Thank you Alan and team for such a wonderful day!
