Review Guido's - Port Alfred

We just love going there! Awesome place. The mere fact that they cater for pensioners says a lot for their humanity! Thank you Guido family for showing us there are still good people in the food and beverage business. God Bless!

We had Irish coffees, which were a bit mediocre, but still fine. The crumbed calamari was great. Service was a little slow, but very friendly and kind. Plus the view was amazing. I would go back.

I loved this place. The view is gorgeous, staff are friendly, prices are really decent and the atmosphere is relaxing. Definitely somewhere I'd like to go again.

Pizzas were great ! We ordered for takeaway and they were done within 15 min straight out the oven. They were tasty and full of filling. Lovely location and kid friendly too.

The patio has great views, and the staff is friendly. We had the mussel pot and prawns starters, both of which were delicious.

Thanks for becoming our new favorite restaurant in Port Alfred. Awesome meals every time.

Great spot, relaxing views of the ocean and river mouth. The food was good service, and it was ok, but i feel they took too long to come back and check on me. They need to improve on that from my point of view. But I give it a 👍👍

Place is Awesome. Amazing View of Note. Pizzas are always a Winner. They definitely going up in terms of quality food, Great service and the venue itself.

Beautiful place with beautiful views. Out amd indoor sitting available. I enjoyed their food and our waitresses was amazing. I would most definitely recommend this place. Their cocktails and MOJO jars are also amazing. It's right by the beach so perfect for a day you want to chill by the beach too. Lots of parking space.

We come here every time we are in Port Alfred. Its right on the beach and it is beautiful. The food is good too. Not a 5 star restaurant by any means, but good home cooking. We will be back.

Loved it! Few places left with open decks close to beach & sea at which to sit, eat, drink, relax & watch the waves - Guido's a treasure. Good food, good service. Cannot be in Port Alfred and not visit Guido's.

Lovely location right on the beach with gorgeous views. My waitress was very pleasant and the specials looked fabulous. I ordered the Eisbein special but it took a bit longer than I had expected. When the food finally arrived, it certainly was worth the wait. It was the best Eisbein I had ever tasted - we used to own a restaurant as well and I thought ours was the best until this one!!! The chips were perfect and the roasted vegetables were superb. 10 out of 10 for the meal! The long wait was redeemed! The owner Toby was very friendly and there definitely was nice vibe starting with the fireplaces going, but some positive criticism, the place does need a bit of brightening up and renovation. The tables were worn and I felt that it was a bit grubby. But all in all, I would come back - especially for the Eisbein. :-)

Dear owner of Guido's: I went there yesterday with my kids. I warned them that Guido's is not a great restaurant, but they insisted and contrary to my better judgement, we gave you a second chance. (The previous visits was terrible) This time 'round, at least we were served quickly. Our waitress was lovely. Our order cam quickly, but WOW! What a dissappointment. My 6 year old son would not even eat your chips. They were old, cooked in old oil, and tasted like fish. My battered hake would have been ok, if the oil wasn't old. There was a tiny piece of lemon on the plate, a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato. Please, presentation costs nothing. Train your staff! Clean your place up! I have no idea where you get your 5 star reviews. I wrote these complaints on the back of my till slip, and gave it to the waitress to share with the manager. Have a talk with him. Contact me if you want to train your staff.

Went to Guido's over the weekend & it was great, food was worth the wait & the owner was checking up on his clients in person, service in general was much better than my prior visit under previous management so hats off to an owner who is putting in the effort.

Great view, great food, when the order is correct. Poor, poor service, had to ask 4 times for a waitress. Sat on balcony, they did not even know where the light switch was, sat in the dark for a while. Was there two weeks ago, waited two and a half hours for our food, when we complained we were not apologised to rather argued that it was only two hours !!! Come on guys get it right, the food is great.....fix the the service...

What an amazing #venue #quick #snack or a #hungry belly. Take away their great #pizza 🍕 to eat in the comfort of or sit down to enjoy the best view and warm hospitality. Order something different with Bacon to be spoiled!!

Ordered takeaways. 3 x pizza. All Avocado was black. Bacon on pizza was very difficult to find and when i did find it, it was little squares of chopped fat. Not a good experience at all.

The Idian food was tasty and came out quickly, however service is poor and waitors are not paying any attention to the basics. Yes it's December but we are the only table upstairs, no salt and pepper on the table even though there is a waitor busy prepping tables. Warm beer and slow on drinks orders. And jip it smell a bit like pee up here...and yes my empty plate is still in front of me after the waitor has been to the table twice. TRY HARDER!

Goooood food and drinks. It was our 2nd time around and I will definitely recommend Guido's.

I judge a restaurant on the decor and the cleanliness and Guidos is in dire need of a good spring cleaning, mouldy ceiling, dusty corners(check above the TV), and one would expect green, red and white for an Italian style restaurant not awful orange, yellow and brown decor so 1970's. Also not very impressed when the server brought our bill and I got some of her hair weave/wig with the bill. Just gross.

Food's great, staff are friendly and accommodating, a proper small town beach restaurant with an amazing location. The locals eat here too so you know it's good!

Enjoyed the food. Service fairly good. Entrance dark and beach front parking very noise with music screeching and a bit scarey.

Use to be a good place ,not anymore management sucks ,and the kindergarten they have as staff supports the worst experience ever����

Ordered pizzas, waitress informed me that it will take max 50minutes to which I agreed. At 90min I only found out that the pizzas haven't even seen the oven. Shitty, shitty service time and again.

Beautiful location and it wnds there .when asked waitors explained the fish wasnt fresh and we next to the sea.ate ribs which where amazing but I dont understand the logic of serving ribs with no finger bowl that was strange.when I s sked the waitor why they didnt have it she said you need to request it this is a standard in every resturant.attention to detials and staff needs to be trained to deliver good service.would go again expacting aome improvement.

Once again, good food let down by very poor service from waitress. They really invest a bit of time training their staff.
