Great fish and chips! Slap chips are the best with loads of vinegar. Need I say more? A Southern Suburbs institution. Keen to try the calamari next.

best fish shop ever, the freshest fish shop i've come across, quick waiting time, cheap prices and friendly staff. this place needs more people to recognize it because it's one of the best fish shops out there.
i have such fond memories of this fisheries on the corner. been going here since i was a kid, when my dad would surprise me on a friday. never been disappointed. their fish is always fresh and their portions generous.
Good old fashioned fish and chips. Freshly battered and fried fish, with a choice of hake, snoek and kingklip (and sometimes they offer other fish varieties as well) and of course, great slap chips.
Just a word of caution, if you want fish and chips on a Friday evening, it gets super busy so you may want to call ahead with your order.
I love me some Plumstead fisheries food. You gotta eat it straight out of the fryer to enjoy it properly. A good old fish and chips parcel hits the spot for me. I especially like their kingklip.

I must just say THE BEST take away FISH AND CHIPS I have had in Cape Town. The Plumsteaed main road is a bit dogs but parking is safe in the Shopping centre next door. This has become a monthly treat for us and they are conveniently open till late 20h00 hours if I recall. Service is not flashy but VERY friendly, efficient, fish always the freshest and fast with no fishy smells that turn me off from other places. This evening Jackie and Naeelah were very friendly and helpful.
The staff were really great and meal was good. The only (and big) setback was someone who came out from the back and shouted at the unfortunate door guard for letting us in, right in front of bus, even though we actually left the store before closing. The other staff were all amazing.
Old fashioned take-away. The fish and chips tasted heavenly as always.Personal attention to every customer with super sport TV to watch while waiting in the queue. Prices very reasonable.
I rank Plumstead Fisheries in my top 3 fisheries of the Southern Suburbs. They stay open the longest and their menu is quality and value for money. Great for a large family and excellent for traditional fish and chip lovers.
Their snoek parcel is absolutely delicious and not greasy, I highly recommend, if you're not a baby about the bones.
Never have I been disappointed over the years with their food ,service is always friendly, I can't think of anything negative to say

First time visitor, arrived at 7.35pm, waited around 10 minutes for the freshly cooked fish and chips, it was excellent. A small problem, it's run by 2 brothers, the brilliant, articulate, cool dude and the "other" brother. The brilliant suave, sophisticated brother supports Manchester United and unfortunately the rough, uneducated, brother is a Liverpool fan. I really feel for the brilliant brother, the shame, stay tough mate. Great food 😋
This place is absolutely amazing! I'm quite picky when it comes to ordering fish and chips and I can say with complete certainty that this place is one of the best. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and most of all, the snoek and chips I ordered was delicious. It was also a very big portion, literally split it between two meals. This place is a definite must see.
