Had hubby’s surprise 50th here last night. About 23 of us. Food was divine (and so worth it)! Keeran, V and staff went out of their way assisting with surprise party and seeing to us all (and assisting with the epic surprise cake). Staff were extremely accommodating and friendly – would definitely recommend CB for a night out or any celebration. Everyone in our party was very impressed with service and food! Thank you Keeran!

My wife and I had supper at cattle baron platterkloof,the food was delicious I really admire the waiters there service is phenomenal and a shout out to Gareth our waiter for evening such excellent service keep it up
Overall we had a good experience, the waiter was very young. He seemed like he was still in training, but he was a very sweet guy, very well mannered. My starter, which was the stuffed mushrooms, was good, a little oily. My husband had the beef carpaccio, which was really good, big portion as well. I had the chicken gordon bleu. It lacked a decent amount of sauce. Luckily, I ordered more sauce with my meal, but what I lacked in sauce I got with my meal inside. What a generous amount of cheese sauce inside. It's one of the best chicken Gordon blue's I've had. Unfortunately, my husband's steak was cold in side, he has his steak completely raw with just a sear on the sides.
Overall a good meal, friendly staff and fast service.
Man my baby, my wife, and Gran. loves this place. Hands down the best cheesecake you'll ever find. The owners wife makes it🤤! Great vegetarian options. Chris is the best, i feel at home here. Thanks for the repeatedly great experiences. Also the steelworx mocktail is magical.

Thank you Cattle Baron for a lovely evening spent at your restaurant last night. Everything was superb, from the waiter Chris who was very professional and friendly, to the food that was absolutely superb. All of us actually sent empty plates back to the kitchen. My highest compliments to your chef who prepared all our steaks. It was phenomenal. We will most certainly be back on a more regular basis. Well Done!!

We had a table of about 20 booked on Dec 13th, ‘23 for lunch. Whilst the restaurant and food were excellent, the waiter, Chris was not pleasant at all. Surly, rude and displayed a very bad attitude. Thís was noted by a few people at our table.
We're a group of 5 guys, who saw each other 30-35 years ago, doing service. What better place than a centrally located stakehouse.
Here's the thing; they have great Lunch specials, running until 1600. Then there is fabulous Dinner specials, running from 1800.
What to do l when you have a very late lunch, I.e. between 1600-1800, you are stuffed.....
Well, you use the sympathetic ear of the manager, who makes a plan for you.....
Really pushed our luck, but the friendly and accommodating management and staff made our mini-reunion a memorable event.

A lovely lunch with friends, some ordered the carvery which comes ready plated & others ordered off the menu. The food was pleasant, but I had a higher expectation for the carvery plate. My potatoes were over done & rather small compared to others, the pumpkin under done & rather hard & chicken not crispy enough with no golden brown colour. We did have the most delightful waitress DEMI which was very warm & welcoming in her demeanor & ready to accommodate us with anything we needed. We found the manager somewhat cold & distant, only greeting us briefly when leaving the restaurant. As someone who understands the ins & outs of the hospitality & food industry, a friendly gesture from him would make clients feel alot more comfortable or welcomed making them feel appreciated as patrons to his restaurant?
I had a carpetbagger and it was great. Succulent and mouth melting! Service was on point, checked in frequently and was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately not clued up about current specials. As for the menu, being a steak "restaurant", they mostly served sirlion. A couple of fillet dishes and they are introducing "stress free meat" including sirlion (again) and rump. Ribeyes were sold out 😳. As the female in the group (and I do like my meat) the only fish available (in Cape Town?) was hake and a baby kingklip (sold out)... and a lot of fried calamari strips... 😢 Don't get me wrong, I understand they are known for their meat (which is great). Me personally would have loved some more/better alternatives (hey, I'm female and moody! 😂😜) But overall I had a great experience and will recommend them anytime.
Love every time I visit this branch. The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable and the food is pretty great too.. Definitely try any of their specialty menu items.
