If you want a pancake, this is the place to visit. They have a great variety with something to suit everyone, from plain cinnamon, chocolate mousse, pavlova, savory mince, to exotic springbok. The coffee is great, the milkshakes beautiful and the hot chocolate delicious
Their savory pancakes make a great light meal. And their sweet pancakes are great too. Great Pilgrims rest atmosphere 👌
What an unexpected treat - absolutely terrific food and hospitality! Leona is such a gracious host. The attention to detail paid to the taste and presentation of dishes would not be out of place on Masterchef. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, I hope to come back one day. Highly recommended!
I absolutely loved the pancakes and the friendliness of the staff here. They are welcoming and very helpful. The car guards will watch or just wash your car and because there's no atm in pilgrims rest you can ask the restaurant for some cash to be added to your bill to pay them!!! The food was yummy and the portion sizes reasonable for the pricing. It is also a very safe town. Get your museum passes at the information center and then travel around Pilgrims rest to look at each museum. Absolutely a picturesque town. Some parts are still being cleaned up and rebuilt by the community but still a stop worth making!!
This is a very charming café, very historic, first opened in 1895 and it looks exactly the way it used to, over a century ago. beautifully decorated inside with all the historic charm of Pilgrim's Rest and some Mpumalanga artifacts. The coffee is out of the this world in my opinion, pancakes are just as good. The service excellent as good as a proud South African rural hospitality. This whole town deserve more than they get credit for.
Such a quaint little place in Pilgrims Rest. We enjoyed a delicious coffee and a milk-tart custard pancake. Service was great and the ambiance was perfect.

Delicious pancakes. I prefer a thin pancake, so these were absolutely perfect. The chocolate mousse pancake was a huge hit with my husband. Service was fast and efficient. Worth a visit when you're in Pilgrims Rest.
Very cute little cafe in Pilgram’s rest! Excellent sweet and savoury pancakes 🥞 and speedy service! They even work during load shedding. Definitely a hidden gem and worth a visit.
