Must stop! It's beautiful, not overcrowded with people and the food is fresh and delicious. They have the best pies in South Africa, no doubt!! The service is fast and super friendly! Bathrooms are clean.

The only stop on the N3 to Durban. The pies and coffee are a must-have. The restrooms are very clean. It is dog friendly and even has space where your dog can drink water. Although it is almost always very busy, you get helped quickly. The sit - down restaurant is worth a visit if you have time. Great food and great service. Definitely 10 out of 10

A beautiful child friendly spot with fast service and excellent food. The pepper steak pie is very meaty..tender enough for our toddler to enjoy. The toasted beef bagel was absolutely delicious and the chips were perfect 👌 The service was so fast we didn't have time to do a proper tour of the exquisite gardens.. well worth a visit!

What an awesome break, amazing coffee and freshly baked bread. A Refreshing pit stop for the jhb to Dbn traveller and visa versa. With a full established restaurant, filling station and quick shop. Have to try home Made pies are the best

The Windmill Bakery and Cafe at BP, went there on our travels for a quick pie… this place is amazing, it has the usual petrol garage shop stuff however inside it there’s so much more… a coffee bar which you can get yourself your favourite shot of caffeine in whichever way you desire, there’s also a selection of jarred pickles, jams and spreads which a sourced from a local producer. Then there’s the bakery, this by far is the star of the show, as you walk in there are a selection of artisan breads, rusks, crunchies etc served in baskets which are freshly made at the bakery, then when you get to the bakery counter they have freshly baked pies, croissants and so many other delicious looking pastries. My wife and I went in for a pie which was what we did get but we were easily tempted into getting a few extra things on the side. Let me say this… BEST pastry pies I have ever had in my life. Hands down. Yes it is a bit pricier than your normal garage pie but man oh man is it worth every scent. The pie is abundantly stuffed with its delicious filling, and they are not shy with it at all, nice hearty chunks of meat and veggies depending on which pie you chose. The pastry is so delicious, crispy and soft at the same time and is in perfect proportion to the fillings of the pie. I wish I were able to describe it even better as I do not feel I am doing it justice, I do highly recommend that if you ever are near there, go past and get yourself a pie whether you want a pie or not… you will certainly not regret it.

This little piece of paradise is a must-stop on your way to or from Durban!! It's a breath of fresh air, and caters for the grab and go or the sit and stay people. I would advise that you rather sit and stay a little while, as you will recharge your batteries and feel completely refreshed just after an hour here. The takeaway section has delicious sandwiches, made with homemade Farmhouse bread. The coffee selection is great, they even offer Milk-alternatives, but the eye-opener is the 500ml Cappuccinos!!! Make sure to buy 1 of their variety of Homemade Farmhouse bread, but 2 would be better as they are yum. The sit-down section is amazing as they have everything from a Juice bar to Vegan offerings, Currys and Burgers. If possible, get a table outside on the veranda, as the view is spectacular. Also, go for a little wander in their gardens and connect to nature. The pricing is reasonable, the service excellent, the quality fantastic and the setting wonderous!!

This was our pitstop. Very nice and very claen especially the bathrooms. Service extremely fast, friendly, professional and efficient. Assisted with a big smile and we felt very welcome. The food was not that awesome. We had a toasted sandwich with chips and also the pie with chips and gravy. The sandwich was big but filling was very little. The pie bursted with flavour, but was unfortunately very try. I needed all the gravy there was. Chips was fantastic and food arrived very fast and very hot.

The sausage roll…. I didn’t like. It needed ketchup and you would have had a boerewors roll. The peri peri chicken pies was delicious. Sadly they didn’t have chicken and mushroom pies. Go have a Bull Cappuccino. It’s delicious. Knowing they bake their own Pastries is a bonus. Friendly staff. And my wife applauds their short bread
