Beautiful gardens. .Excellent food. Had brunch there recently. The service was fantastic. Those muffins and the apple crumble are definitely on my list at my next visit. The food portions left me with no place for coffee or dessert. Super place to relax and enjoy fresh air and the glorious flowers in garden. Definitely a "Must Return" for me.

Tea on 23 is a hidden gem situated in Scottsville near University of KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg Campus on Carbis Road. It features a scenic garden with cute little tables perfect for a secluded and quiet date or catching up over coffee. The staff are very friendly and the menu is very flexible. There is no WiFi or alcoholic beverages available at the moment. I've personally visited numerous times and always manage to capture very aesthetically pleasing photos. A MUST SEE FOR ANY INSTAGRAMMER OR FOODIE.

Enjoyed a most wonderful brunch on Saturday. The sweetcorn fritter with bacon, avo and poached egg was delicious (please add it as an option on the menu!) and the brownies are sublime! Top tip:the brownies can be bought in a pack of 3 to take home id your belly is too full to tackle one after your meal. Thank you Rob and team for your wonderful hospitality, great food and fabulous atmosphere. It's always a pleasure visiting Tea on 23.

Had the fruit shake ,prawn and fish cake and smoke chicken quaesadilla. It was nice overall but the setting takes 5 stars for me... with beautiful peacocks moving about the venue. Lots of birds chirping and tress nestling in the tables..service was prompt.

I took my mom in law for a treat. Lovely garden area with an outdoor patio too. Divine food and great service. Fresh juices are to die for. The only thing to critique on was the pavers up to the garden and patio area which are not too stable for the elderly to walk up. The helpful security guard made up for this by opening the door for my 84 yr old mom in law and assisted her into the car on leaving. Hence 5 star rating!

Loved enjoying delicious food while sitting out in garden. Such an relaxing atmosphere. The apple crumble and brownies are to die for. Not much parking available unless you willing to park on road. Update: 8/05/21 Went back for Toasted sandwich and Apple crumble on Sat and it was still as great as always. Beautiful peacocks walking around in garden. Definitely well worth a visit.
