This restaurant is outstanding. It exceeded my expectations and I always have high expectations for a warm winter breakfast. The staff is very alert, helpful and friendly and the farm kitchen theme makes one feel right at home with true cape hospitality.
Such a lovely place to sit back, enjoy the fresh air and be served with such amazing hospitality. Our waiter was Jermaine and he paid attention to the smallest details, even memorised each guest name around the table and addressed us accordingly throughout our visit, that is something you don't see often, good on him for delivering impeccable service today. The venue is very cute with the farm-style theme throughout the entire property. The food is delicious, fresh, presented well and will hit every South African note that you would want in a dish. I will definitely recommend this little gem of a place.
Exceeded my expectations. Service was friendly, menu is interesting and effort was made with the decor. Would recommend for brunch. I liked the products in the front of the restaurant that you can browse and buy.
Really delicious food and coffee ! Had the banana bread with berries and bacon special, very generous portion and reasonably priced ! Coffee is good too! Cozy interior, definitely will be back.
What an absolutely cute little restaurant! The setting is beautiful, feels like you are far away from the hustle&bustle. The food was really fantastic. Our table enjoyed Burgers; Pork strip roosterkoek; Chicken parcel on roosterkoek and the lamb which they were also willing to serve on roosterkoek instead of the farm bread. Portions are generous and everything was super tasty. The carrot cake is also divine. I will make an effort to drive out to Paarl to visit Knus Karoo Kombuis! Strongly recommend.
Original ideas for light meal- good presentation and satisfying portions . Pulled pork on a Roosterkoek was great . Stupendous carrot cake muffin. Attentive friendly service. Well priced gift shop and deli in front.
Very cosy, and yummy "boere kos". I've been here a few times, and I'm definitely going to keep going back! The staff are very friendly and accommodating as well☺️
Great spot. Lovely atmosphere and staff. I had eggs benedict with trout served on delicious roesterkoek. They are quite vegetarian friendly as well. Definitely recommend
I stop here after/during cycling training, lunch times with my better half and even just at random times with friends and family. We all love Knus! The coffee is good, the food is good, fantastic place inside and outside, what more could you need? Everyone is always super friendly as well.
If I could change/add 1 thing, i would add unsweetened Almond milk to the menu :-)
A genuinely different experience. I loved the outdoor area. The breakfast menu is interesting and tantalising. The staff are friendly and one can tell they enjoy working here. Kids play area visible from the outdoor
dining area so that monitoring them is hassle free.
The service is excellent and the venue and atmosphere is dreamy. The food is outstanding. I haven’t had restaurant food as good as Knus’s in a very long time. I had the Bobotie Roosterkoek and my wife had the French Roosterkoek. Just ask them to make the Bacon crispy and I tell you, the Bacon is crisped to perfection.
Excellent value for money. The venue is tranquil and you will be hard pressed to find more delicious dishes served anywhere else. Absolutely worht a visit.
Interesting and accessible Afrikaans dishes, or Afrikaans twists on one’s you’re familiar with. I’m not usually a fan of Afrikaans ‘cooking’, with its limited repertoire and rural defaults, but Knus does an excellent job and is worth visiting. Karoo themed decor throughout and a lovely outdoor seating area complete the experience.
It was surprisingly busy, with much more seating that you’d think, and is heavily frequented by the Paarl Afrikaans community. Worth a visit, whether local or tourist.
What a hidden gem of a place! Of the beaten path, tucked away, this lovely spot has it all. Friendly and helpful staff, incredible food, fantastic coffee, gorgeous atmosphere and art, and a lovely little shop with wonderful goodies. So glad we stopped here. I will definitely be returning.
Busy Saterdag morning Breakfast was great as well as the service.
13 of us arrived after our hike to be told the kitchen is closing in half an hour. The waitress took our order (we all ate & drank). She was very efficient. Our food arrived quickly, all at the same time. We were very impressed with their service, esp for a big group. Well done! One of our ladies told them they are "ninja waiters". Food was delicious, we all enjoyed everything & will be back after our next hike, for sure!
We had the Caramel Cheesecake, and my son had a plate of chippies. We enjoyed the beautiful garden setting, the fantastic and beautiful play area. But we had a few issues with the service. It was quite busy and the waitress had too many tables to serve.
Staff were really helpful and quick service!! The nicest eggs Benedict ever (with biltong). Beautiful venue and great for kids. Best coffee restaurant in Paarl
We enjoyed the Karoo cupachino and cheesecake which was very tasty. I could see a lot of other menu items I would like enjoying, but mostly above my budget range. We ended up sharing the cheesecake.
What a great location, friendly team and delicious menu. I had the poached eggs with biltong and I must confess, it was an emotional experience. Unashamedly and beautifully South African. Xxx
