One of my favourite spots in Obs. Food vegan/vegetarian friendly and all affordable & delicious! Atmosphere is cosy, welcoming & ultra friendly. Their coffee is also great. Totally worth a visit if you need somewhere to mellow out :)
Walked into this place and I liked the cosyness of the place. Was even more impressed when I was told that there is a bigger space at the back of the restaurant. Was taken through and was impressed with the ambience of the place.
I felt like I was in a partially outdoors vintage location; all the furniture being aged and unique. The background music didnt seem to disappoint.
Even though I didnt have anything to eat, the food that I did see people having looked awesomely delicious.
Don't be fooled by the front area of this restaurant, as it's quite small, there is a big area at the back, which is artfully decorated, the type of establishment where you could easily spend a few hours socializing or working, sipping on tasty coffee and eating.
It's a truly welcoming establishment with super friendly service, and the food (vegan / vegetarian) options are diverse and tasty.
Go there!
Mike Hathorn and I went Marley Coffee off the back of reviews on social media. We started with the vegan chicken mayo toasted samie and the facon and avo toasted samie. They were both really impressive and moreish. I’d say they’re a little petite to fill you right up for a lunch, but we were brunching, so we kept going. Next was the vegan waffle - covered in beautiful fresh fruit and dollops of coconut cream. We loved it. Finally, we topped everything off with the vegan French toast, which comes with fried banana, facon and strawberries. I was slightly less taken with this dish, as it didn’t quite hit the French toast notes I hoped it would. But overall, we liked the vibe, and loved the food, so we’ll definitely be back. The coffee’s not bad either :)
Awesome vegetarian and vegan coffee shop and cafe with a unique but very relaxed experience.
Had the vegan chicken mayo (with side of chips). I enjoyed it, but felt it was too light; not a whole lot of filling, and small bread to begin with. Would be reluctant to spend R60 for this again. The iced coffee was good, and the Zang vegan coffee is also good.
The vegan & gluten-free waffles have a very healthy feel and taste. It feels more like a fruit salad. You can tell from the photo it’s tasty and with generous toppings.
BEST VEGAN CHICKEN MAYO EVER!!!!!
the vibe is super mellow and chilled out.
the service is pretty slow, but that's all part of the experience - so don't come here if you're in a rush. Marley is place to take a break & relax.
Lovely, friendly service; good, creative vegan food with a menu that changes regularly; fresh spring water collected from Newlands (not from an Obz tap); delightful and light vegan waffles topped with coconut cream, banana slices, many different berries and nuts - no complaints and a big thank you to Marley Coffee!
So so lovely. The vibe is amazing and so is the food. I love the Vegan options. The juice is so good as well.
I just wish you could perhaps change the times cos in the week they said they closed at 18:30 while I was prepared for 7 since I arrived after work. X
Other than that it's probably my favourite place in Observatory right now.
Marly coffee is a small quiet café in observatory with a wonderful vibe to it. The staff are very friendly and the food is great. We ordered the vegan chicken and mayo, the vegan french toast as well as the waffle. It was one of the most satisfactory meals I have ever had and I will definitely be back for more
Incredible place with the best food! The back area is worth a visit and we would 100% recommend the delicious sandwiches. Wonderful staff, a must visit in Obs.
Amazing atmosphere, lovely staff, and beautifully decorated. The food is also great, I highly recommend the Chick'n Freud sandwich!
At this shop, I've had the best coffee experience. The atmosphere is super chilled and welcoming as well as the staff. It feels as though I'm going to my second home ❤️ Absolutely In love with Ground Zero
Seriously great coffee, fruit juices and veggie food at Ground Zero. Love the bolt hole through the bar where I can centre and work if needed. Aron also gets my award for the most creative cappuccino foam to date
I absolutely adore this place... The vibe, the people, the food, it's all great. Definitely one of my most favorite spots here in Obs. If you're looking for tasty, healthy food, and a nice relaxed environment to enjoy it in, this is your spot. Unlike anything else I've visited, they definitely have something unique here.
Great place to spend a few chill hours. The vegan food is outstanding, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly, smokers of all kinds are catered to, and the service was great if a little slow. Definitely a place to visit again and again.
Been a regular for a while now. They make great tea's, smoothies and many other drinks. Great chips and many nice vegan foods. Very comfortable relaxing place that always has a great atmosphere. Thanks to exceptionally friendly staff, that always makes me feel at home. They also have a really nice aesthetic, especially if you like plans and art as much as I do
If you are looking for a vegan eatery, here's a lovely option. Their salad bowl was easily one of the best salads I've ever had. The drinks were perfection. You can sit at the front, facing the road or at the back.
It'd be helpful if they could mark the different areas to indicate which are smoking and non-smoking zones so that newbies can pick a table appropriately.
This is a chill, relaxed oasis in the middle of Observatory with well balanced, flavourful vegan dishes just as colourful as the decor. We loved relaxing on the cushions and enjoyed every minute here.
Cool spot. Really great food, all vegan and the staff was very friendly. Definitely one of my new favourites.
The wall art was just the cherry on top.
