Quite pricey but very nice and quite fancy. Good for a first date or something.
This was my first time trying out a Thai restaurant. I ordered the red Thai curry with chicken. I didn't really enjoy it - the chicken stock was a bit potent. However, my friend ordered the same dish and liked it. So I think it was just a personal issue, not necessarily a bad dish.
Besides that, the service was great. Even if my waiter would be busy elsewhere, someone else immediately came to help me as soon as they noticed.
Will definitely go back to try something new!
One of the best Asian cuisine restaurants, the food is delicious and the ambience is amazing. The service is always amazing as well which is a bonus. Would definitely recommend for a casual but nice dinner. My favorites are the sushi, the firecracker noodle, the spring rolls and the calamari. I would also recommend the deep fried ice cream if you’re into desserts, very peculiar when you first hear of it but absolutely delicious 😍
Had a very pleasant experience at Rock Sushi Thai tonight. Our waiter was friendly and gave us great recommendations, and we really enjoyed everything we ordered. For starters, we had the rainbow roll and tiger roll sushi, both of which were fresh and delicious - some of the best sushi I’ve had in Cape Town. In terms of main courses, we tried the massaman curry with tofu and veg, and the firecracker noodles with chicken. Both were packed with flavour, but although the overall portion size is generous, we felt they could’ve given us more tofu/chicken. The ambience isn’t amazing and it was very quiet, although the interior décor was very elegant and tasteful. This is a great place for affordable and tasty Thai food.
This restaurant should not be rated anything else other than 5 stars!! Amazing Sushi, Amazing Service and an Amazing vibe!! Best thing (other than the obviously great sushi) is that there is no annoying background music.
Often pass this place and finally decided to try it out a few weeks ago. Felt a bit unsure about what to order so we decided to get a bit of everything. Sushi, noodles and dumplings were ok at best. Nothing really stood out for me. I did however enjoy the prawn starter, which was so good I didn't even get a chance to take a picture. Service was ok, slightly slow at times though.

Rock Sushi Thai surpassed all my expectations, for a restaurant that couldn't get 4 stars, my expectations were not particularly high but it none the less wowed me. The service was good, not overly intrusive but was always there if anyone needed anything and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated and not clichéd at all. Then there is the food, I myself did not try the Thai, but from what my mother said, it appears to be exceptional. I on the other hand had the sushi. I have eaten cheap sushi on many occasions and I can easily say that this was by far the best. For half the price Willoughby's and Co (which I still believe to be the best sushi in Cape Town), it can easily be considered one of the best here in the city. (I would recommend the Godzilla sushi as it was my personal favorite). This is certainly a wonderful restaurant that I would recommend to anyone coming to Cape Town. I will definitely be coming back again. Especially for the affordable prices...
When you on the go and feel like some good Thai food I would recommend rock sushi Thai, either sitting at the bar counter watching the chef make fresh sushi or the cozy dining area. The food is always great from the red Thai to the crispy duck, I would recommend asking for the chili extras to assist with adding to the heat.
A little gloomy in decor but satisfying service nonetheless. The sushi is really fresh... So much so that even newcomers of sushi will be comfortable with trying sashimi for the first time and satisfied with the outcomes. Worth a visit
