I visited the new venue on Sat evening this past weekend at he end of a fantastic day and felt welcomed into the relaxed and laid back atmosphere with chilled music and great Beer. I am going back to sample more of the Striped Horse beers and I am claiming my spot on the comfy leather couch. If you have the pleasure of visiting the bar and know the owner then see if you can find the signature tattoos hidden somewhere on the wall hangings .... Great spot !
This is a fantastic place to hide from the sun for a few hours. Amazing interior with charming decor. They offer great food, craft beers and cocktail specials. Fridays are vinyl nights, which are a real treat, but ultimately, it's the manageress, Zee, who makes the place so rocking and fun with her warm, fun and inviting personality. This place is a MUST visit for that authentic Muizenberg experience!
We usually come here for beers which is pleasant and the beers are affordable. They have a great beer special. The interior is cosy. The food menu is small but had a vegetarian option which wasn't as good as what I've had before on average and was a little overpriced for the portion. The chips are great especially when they season them well with rosemary! The service is good.
The Striped Horse is one of the coolest spots in Muizies. The decor is eclectic and fascinating, the seating is comfortable, and the vibe is relaxed and fun.
The Striped Horse is well known for their beer, but their food is really epic too! I tried the Prego Roll, and it was so delicious, I forgot to get a photo of it first! The chips that accompany the roll are some of the best I've ever had... yummmm! Accompanied by a Liefmans On The Rocks, this was the perfect meal!
Stopped over for a drink later in the evening. Great little bar in a vibey area. Decor is very eclectic and interesting. Cool and friendly bar staff.
Fabulous spot in Muizenberg to go for a drink or something to eat, the Striped Horse only opened in October and is already super popular and pumping.
Owner Jurie has great eclectic taste as reflected by the decor and the vibe is awesome. A live band was playing when we went for a drink and we loved the atmosphere
Jalapeño poppers are a must try👌🏽
Great staff, delicious beer with live music! Check times for bands playing. Won't regret the ocean view and mountain side behind the bar!!

Quirky and original. Good place to have a beer after that iconic walk to and cold water plunge at Dalebrook.
Food may have taken a bit long but was def worth the wait!

A bar in down town Muizenburg with alot of calm and fun.. a great place to visit on a friday night.. the beer is cheap, the music is good ol 80s .. the deco has got a Cuban/ South American swing. Loved it
Not my usual spot, but went to a birthday here and was pleasantly surprised. The service at the bar is exceptional, even on a busy Friday night. Good for those that enjoy dancing to good music (on a Friday at least).
The Striped Horse is just an iconic spot in the muizenberg area. Live music, sport, dj's...it is just one of those places you have to visit. Excellent decor and a really chill hip vibe.
If you enjoy Striped horse beer served up on a cold glass in a dimly lit bar, you should check them out. They have a good selection of drafts, bottles and cans...not to mention some killer happy hour specials and a well stocked bar.
They have live music sometimes, an outdoor patio and a kitchen with that has a good mix of quick pub food that leans mostly on the fried side.
The staff was friendly and attentive and considering the amount of tourists they serve, still had on smiles.
If you are in the mood for beer and pub food in a good place to chill out, be sure to roll through. ps- the jalapeño poppers need to be cooked about two minutes longer. ;)
Nice bar for a cool beer. Outside seating, staff were great 😊! Nachos were excellent, perhaps best ever. Highly recommended! 😊😊😊
Fantastic vibe, awesome peeps, watching SA vs All Blacks and gooooo South Africa great game, nailed it, winners!! Super pub, love the decor! Great conversation with strangers! Definitely be back to try the raved about chicken wings!
Although the Horse is open many nights a week. I can recommend Saturday nights with DJ Mario its an electric atmosphere and a mix of age groups from 18 - 60!!! Music is outta this world 360 degrees across all genres... the beer and tequila options are vast with super friendly bar people and security.
