A quaint cosy coffee shop tucked in a quiet area outside of the city centre, Cafe Lang is my new favourite spot in Mthatha. We ordered a black velvet cake with a cream cheese topping for a birthday celebration, and everyone wanted seconds. Every time I come back home I'll make sure to make a visit. I was welcomed with a smile at the door by the owner, uMama that served me was very friendly and efficient. The chicken mayo sandwich I ordered had too much filling which caused the sandwich to fall apart. I also found the filling too rich. Their cakes are HEAVENLY! DIVINE! They are fluffy and moist. Whenever I am in Mthatha, I treat myself to their cakes.

I've only had their red velvet and chocolate cakes, but those have had me going back for more!! They're moist, decadent, and I especially love the frosting on the red velvet cake. To die for!!

I placed an order for a cake on the phone mid Oct and the morning of the collection when i called to ask if my collection time was still ok i was told they cant find my order. And tht i did not place an order... after shouting she told me it can be done. Oh btw, They also changed the price i was quoted on with no prior notice. The cake was nice though but they should work on their customer service. I will try them out again soon hopefully my experience will be better.

They have the best chicken and mayo sandwich which is served with potato chips. I love their food and cakes. They have a nice place, beautiful trees and garden.

Beautiful family operated coffe shop.Professionally run with the client in mind. Ideal setting offering breakfasts,lunches and snacks. Lovely staff who compliment the management. Well done to Nikki and your team. The menu is perfect. The mutton curry is to die for. Definitely passing by on my next visit to Umtata.

Fresh, clean environment and consistent with their food and beverage. Their cakes are to die for. They now have mini cakes for those self indulgence days. Always a pleasure. A definite place to go.
