Review Mugg & Bean - Midrand

This is one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast. I love the sandwiches, breakfast options and the Hot chocolate, coffees there. The ambience and service are too good. I'm a great fan of the cookies in Mugg n Bean. The quality and ambience has been maintaining the same way from last 10 to 15years. Ambience - Great Food - Quality is good and the Quantity is adequate. Service - Good Price - Reasonable Recommendation: Try their sweet potato fries. Don't miss the cookies though. Note: Please improve your fries. They are a bit below par.

Your classic mugg and bean experience. Very good drinks and very good food. A nice warm restaurant and a very friendly waiter made the experience even better. A place you can visit over and over if you live in the area.

I was served by Dineo @ Carlsward in Midrand and her service was exquisite. On point and the food was fresh, delicious and it was my birthday I got the best long Island ever!! I wouldn't mind coming back here again! food & service: 5 STAR TREATMENT!♥️♥️♥️ DANKO!!😎🥰❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️

Food was okay nothing extraordinary about it, the service was not to bad, it’s convenient if you wanna grab a quick old school breakfast the prices are affordable as well, it’s a bit dark inside overall it was okay I just didn’t like the fact that you literally have to share the bathroom with the staff from Spar as it’s situated in a funny way but overall I would give it an 8/10

I am not a fan of Mugg & Bean. The service is slow. The portions are too large. However, it appears they have a new menu, the portion size was perfect. And the service appeared better.

Great service, waiters are clued up about the menu items and efficiently attentive. Salads were fresh, well prepared and well presented; very generous portions.

So me and my colleague went to have a shake and a snack after work... It's sad to see how the people stare and gossip because we came from work and were not all groomed and polished of you know what I mean... Little does anyone know the income I make or my influence online.. Anyways.. We had the shake and felt uncomfortable so we left. The waiter who served us was great though. Thanks.

Visiting from Cape Town and was not disappointed. Great variety of food including salads which was what I was looking for. Restaurant was busy and people looked like they were enjoying themselves which is also a good sign. There is free parking in the center as well. Service was friendly and attentive.

The service was really great. Didn't wait very long for the food. Didn't quite enjoy their spicy Buffalo wings. Other than that, beautiful place to enjoy your breakfast

Our waitress, Florence, was very friendly and assisted us when we had a problem with our drinks. This was done very promptly and professionally. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and so did my partner. Kudos😃

Closes at 9pm on a Sunday so deets need to be updated on Zomato. We had an Awesome dinner of mushroom and bacon bare burger and a Mexican chicken & Charred Corn Salad. Service was friendly and efficient and this is one of my favorite spots with the food being consistently good and wholesome.

If I could give a zero rating, this Mugg & Bean would certainly deserve it. The wait staff are unfriendly, and the food is honestly shocking. I would be ashamed if I was the owner of this franchise. First, my cappuccino that I ordered tasted like coffee mixed with drain water and had to get sent back for a new one. I ordered a plain quesadilla, which came with cream, guacamole and 'salsa'. The cream was sour, the guacamole was frozen and after I complained about this, the waiter just blasted it on the microwave and brought it back. Got to be the worst restaurant experience in my life.

Popped by for a quick snack, palace was quiet, but service was slow. Food was tasteless, and even drinks that we order regularly at other branches tasted watered down. Carlswald is definitely losing the plot!!! Not going to go back here any time soon

I don't know why I keep coming back even after I've been disappointed. The service here is shocking! I'm usually in the 'hood early Sunday mornings for a scone but it usually takes 10 mins to get my order taken and almost 15 mins to actually get the scone. Maybe I should take up baking #thinkingoutloud #notagain

Not too shabby for a Mugg & Bean! Food was... goodish! Not mind blowing, but good :) The ultimate chicken mayo sandwich needs to have A LOT of mayo, and gherkin! This one was a bit dry, and had no gherkin :( sad! But definitely not their fault!! Overall service was dead average.. again though - it's not really their fault?? There are a lot feet going through those doors and I think the staff struggle to keep up! Very good efforts though!!<br/><br/>I might see this place again! But for a proper lunch meal ;)

Meh! Came here on the public holiday and it was packed, but a few tables open inside. We waited forever for someone to acknowledge us. Finally the manger came over to ask us if everything was ok and we quickly took the time for her to take all of our orders. Drinks came quite quick but the food took forever! I understand it was busy but people around us were sending food back and even heard a lady comment to the manager thats it unacceptable to wait so long for drinks. The food was ok. My boyfriend ordered the new chicken meatball hoagie, but asked for it not to have the basil pesto and it came with it even tho they wrote it down so another extra 10 minute wait. All in all i wont be running back.

Not the greatest Mugg & Bean I've been to. A bit too heavy handed with their ingredients, and the staff aren't as well managed. But besides that, it's a good ol' Mugg & Bean.

Went in to grab a quick dinner... their wings aren't fresh. Not the 1st time I had a bad wings experience at Mugg & Bean , I'm beginning to think it's a nationwide thing. <br/><br/>Amazing salad as always.

I had this delicious chickpea salad today. The salad is served in a Jar and you decant the salad into a bowl.Very interesting concept, I loved how the salad was layered in the jar and that's the way it fell into the bowl with the chickpeas on top.It was by no means a boring salad.<br/>

Popped in to get some work done, before a meeting in the area. Staff were really friendly and my waiter's service was impeccable. He got me seated at a table with a plug point underneath so I could charge my laptop and phone, and kept an eye on me without being a nuisance. I had a signature giant muffin, bran and raisin, which was delicious and a standard cappuccino. As I often have meetings in the Midrand area, I will certainly be visiting again.

Don't like how it's situated. The chairs outside are in the middle of the walk way so there is constant traffic from people who are not diners. It's decor is the typical mug and bean vibe with the dark wooden chairs and skirting and because of that the inside feel like a bit of a hole because it isn't the biggest establishment size wise and there are too many tables inside so you need up feeling like you're sitting directly on top of the people next to you. The food was decent and the service was alright but rather find another Mugg and Bean.

This particular branch let's the M&B franchise down: One could understand that the restaurant get's busy at certain times but I have a few gripes with that. 1. Everyone know's it's going to be busy on the first Sunday after payday, why not compensate (staff-wise) for it? Instead everyone runs around like headless chicken. 2. Regardless of however busy it gets - waiting 25 minutes for a single, black, filter coffee is unacceptable. When you try flag a manager down, he runs away and sends a waitress - after asking to see the manager, he/she still doesn't appear. As usual, the food is fantastic but service (from waitron and manager) is pathetic. As fast as my local shopping centre goes, this is not the restaurant to visit; better service can be had for less money. Poor from M&B (which I generally hold in high regard).<br/><br/>A big thank you to Ryan (manager) from this branch; he has invited us over for a chat, sympathised and agreed that 25 mins is too long to wait for a coffee. He has offered us breakfast and restored our faith in the brand. Thank you for the amazing service Ryan, we will definitely return.

Definitely one of the good ones! The coffee is great as per usual and they do great breakfasts and muffins! It's located in a convenient shopping centre and is the perfect spot for some coffee between shops!

Their breakfasts are consistent, and I love that the franchise has a bacon substitute. The use of excessive oil on the food is frustrating, I always have to wipe down the meal with the serviettes.

Went here twice in my quest to find a decent breakfast place in Midrand and unfortunately this isn't it... it's very busy on a Saturday or Sunday morning so they must be doing something right... what am I missing?

With all the rain around, comfort food and coffee was in order and for that nothing beats the Mugg & Bean chicken mac 'n cheese and their coffee is always good. <br/>Hearty, creamy and a decent sized portion with fries on the side and just a splash of their habanero sauce for a little kick make this a winner for cold, rainy days. <br/>

Made a quick stop for a cappuccino and piece of cheesecake on Friday morning. The place was packed but our waitress, Portia, was so friendly and service was quick. Not the best coffee or cheesecake around but it was quite good.

Busy and interactive vibe. Mostly business people having meetings and doing some work. The food never disappoints and you what you are getting. Flapjacks were huge and I could have shared the portion with my friend. Great morning.

Been here thrice in two weeks. The service is slow. The waiters are not attentive and take their sweet time to do anything for you. They look at you while you seat yourself. I wouldn't advise to meet at this mugg n bean. The service is truly appalling.

They were quite busy, the area had load shedding. So, service was fast considering, but the breakfast was cold unfortunately. Had the Famous One breakfast, was really tasty except for the crumpet thing, it was like cake with veggies in it... Our waitress and trainee were lovely in their service. Coffee was great as always! Love. Jambo.

Always a treat. The managers are very helpful, staff is pleasant and the food is always good. Keep an eye out for the new items on the menu or specials as they are always interesting and well priced. A home away from home.

The Mugg & Bean is conveniently situated to catch up with a friend after work or have a quick business meeting. Takeaway service is very slow considering that there is nothing additional that needs to be prepared. Regardless of the service, this is still my go-to joint when I want to surprise my boyfriend with croissants and coffee at work.
