Excellent service and fresh delicious food 😋 two thumbs up!

Food was well prepared.... staff was a bit slow, not sure if they were short-staffed or they just weren’t being attentive given that the place was about a third of the full capacity. Other than that, the food was good . The bread and butter was super yummy and I hardly like any of those.....really liked the presentation too. :)

My kids and I really enjoyed our time here, food tasted good😋, friendly service and orders were promptly done. 😊

Stank a bit like a rubbish bin left in sun. Maybe clean outside with a deep cleaner snd pressure sprayer

Very friendly staff and the food is soo amazing.

The service was amazing. I didnt wait long for my food. I ordered grilled fish and rice with butternut and spinach on the side. The cafe Latte mmmm. The presentation was on point. They served the coffee and milk separately so you can mix to your own preference.

The food was lovely, well prepared and fresh. We enjoyed the meal. It was quick service, never waited long. The atmosphere was tranquil. Clean and neat restaurant. The staff was efficient and friendly. They have good customer service. Thank you to the team and staff at Ocean Basket Blue Hills.

The food was absolutely delicious! The Cajun calamari was to die for. The hake was average. The service could've been better, but it wasn't terrible. An overall pleasant experience.

Sometimes the music is too loud when you are dinning on the outside tables

The food was really good and the drinks as well as the food was on time. I could see that every effort was made to improve service. They even swopped out my sushi maki for 2x salmon 2x prawns and 2x avo. I had the platter for 1 with top ups and it was a bit long that we waited, but the quality of the food justified the wait.

. I got take aways from obtaining blue hills last week. What a disappointment. The sushi wasn't what I asked for and I got a platter and exchanged calamari steak for fish, the waiter suggested butterfly, it wasn't nice. But what the problem was. The salad wasn't fresh and the feta was off. I had a very unhappy family. No chips and not an eat able salad. I trough it out over the weekend. And a broken sachet of soy was put in the bag, so everything was a mess. Please look into that branch

The staff here are really starting to slack off, had lunch here today and the waiters where all standing in a group laughing and chatting while customers where trying to eat their attention, the one waiter that served us is always dragging on, interrupting our conversation and lingering around us it’s really uncomfortable

We had the prawns and the lemon butter sauce was to die for. Had a great family evening. Thanks to the staff

Staff are friendly.The best spiced chai. Food here is always fresh and excellent.

Service was good and portion was enough � much better than the Ocean Basket in PE which is at the coast.

Great service from our friendly waiter Anele, great calamari starter, amazing sushi and a chilled atmosphere. Will definitely be back! Only disappointment was that they do not stock squid heads (which I absolutely love).

Great friendly staff. Good came on time. Nice warm inside for a winter outing. Definitely choosing to sit outside the cooking area for the summer. But need a wider range of natural sweet wines for my friends!

I have never received such treatment at ocean basket before, one I asked for a swap on my plater for 1, I didn't want mussels I asked for calamari heads instead I was told it's not possible I'm was like but it has been done before every time i go to their outlets I have been allowed to, 2nd I was given a dirty glass to use for my drink which was poured in it already, when I brought it to their attention they just swapped the glass and said Ma'am there is yours drink. Like seriously. Never again shall I put my feet there. I'll stay with my San ridge ocean basket.

In December my wife took me for my birthday meal. The food was pathetic. Overcooked and dry. I complained to head office and was promised vouchers. I also placed on hello Peter. I was told vouchers would be sent to Sanridge. I am still waiting and placed another comment on hello peter but the head office is as bad as the outlet. Sad as it was a wonderful family restaurant and is sliding downhill fast.

Due to the fact that the weather influences our behavior, I feel like the sunny beautiful summer day made the meal extra nice. We had a great table on the balcony. Our waiter was a bit absent minded but that did not negatively affect our experience. The food was good.

Love their grilled hake with spinach and butternut (and lemon butter sauce - don't forget the lemon bitter sauce). :) Rainbow sushi is good too. Just make sure that if you are getting take aways, that they don't give you the weird branded soy sauce that comes in a satchet - it's horrible. It's a chilled, relaxed environment (I go there in track pants most days). Sit-ins are better in summer than winter cause it doesn't have much of a cosy feel. Service is good, waiters are friendly, attentive and accommodating. Even ordered on Mr Delivery and food came as expected (see picture). Definitely one of the more consistent casual dining restaurants we have in Midrand.

The staff were great, our waiter took such good care of us. The platters for two was up to scratch and service was good. It's a quiet little shopping centre, so very peaceful bite to eat. Never had a bad experience with Ocean Basket. Love. Jambo.

Being just about the only place that serves sushi and a variety of seafood at Blue Hills, I expected, at the least the same quality of taste as all other Ocean Baskets I have visited. <br/><br/>I ordered sushi for starters and calamari and prawns for mains with spinach and butternut. I was unfortunately very disappointed. From starters to mains, the food was completely tasteless. The veggies were OVER cooked and everything was swimming in butter-sauce which was also not enjoyable.

Never disappoints. Love the ocean basket franchise. The service here is fantastic and the food is delicious. Will be back soon. <br/><br/>Its in a very quiet shopping centre which makes it all the more appealing. Great job guys.

My family and I had a very enjoyable evening at this Ocean Basket. Apart from the food being fresh and prepared perfectly, the customer service was excellent. Active management, pleasant waiters and fresh food. We also tried the white sangria from the new drinks menu which I recommend.

My husband & I went to go get take away dinner at Ocean Basket Blue Hills (Midrand). I Always order the platter with rice & my hubby with chips. I sat down to eat at home  & there was an odd smell that came from my food. For a moment I thought it was the box. Unfortunately to my horror the rice was off. It tasted fine but with every  movement towards my mouth the smell became potent. I went back to the store with the food & Zelmari Coetzee told me numerous excuses about how she ate the rice earlier and it was fine, how she make sure that everything that came out of her kitchen is in good condition. I don’t think that ANYONE would smell & taste every platter prepared it is NOT FEASABLE. Anyway she did offer a R50 voucher and I disagree because I think the voucher should be of a full amount of my platter because of having to change back into my clothes, drive back & wasting my time. I did not take the voucher because for me it a matter of principle. It is a fact that a customer IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT but I did not think I was being unreasonable.  ANYWAY, business is made by the people that support it. My 7 family members & my friends in Midrand will tell the story of the rice that is off to their friends & family members AND we will gladly drive to Ocean Basket (San Ridge) because better service & taste beats convenience any day.

I had the calamari and it was absolutely scrumptious, fresh, I really wanted the calamari heads and they were out of stock, however, the service and the freshness of the food compensated for the calamari heads.
