Heavens Kitchen is famous in Midrand for its Bunny Chows... For good reason.
This cheap and cheerful outlet tucked away in Vorna Valley Shopping Centre might not look like much at first glance, but it is an absolute gem.
HK is my go-to when chilly Winter weather hits Johannesburg and I am craving spicy, comfort food.
*Recommendation: Portions are generous so make sure that you arrive hungry!

Lamb breyani and chicken curry with rice is a must. Even enjoyed the chicken breyani. And well worth it for the price.

For those that haven't tried it yet, definitely worth it! Look you're never gonna get Durban prices for bunnies up here in Jhb. For us, the closest you'll get to an authentic Durban bunny, is definitely Heaven's Kitchen. The service is awesome, the food, divine! The curry is spicy, not that raw heat you get when people chuck in masala at the end, with plenty of filling in the bunny. They use top quality potatoes and you get enough in your bunny, which some people love, including myself. The meat is always cooked well and there's plenty of it. When you order a half for a take away, there's extra gravy as well which is always a welcome. A huge plus is not only is the food tasty, they're super consistent. You can be certain that it will taste the same every time you order. Keep up the good work guys.
My favourite durban Indian food. The curries are delicious. The portions can be a bit big so we usually order the mini lamb bunnies. My favourite bunnies in Johannesburg.
What a friendly environment ! Customer service is excellent . I always order a mutton bunny and it always has the same amazing flavor, just enough mutton and the perfect amount of gravy . Delicious 😀

For starters we had tin fish samoosa's and I have not had them in years but it was exactly how I remember them growing up... delicious with a bite.
For mains, my boyfriend and I both had mutton bunnies, I had the mini and he had the 1/4. (I love that they have a smaller portion size, this was a bonus for me) We requested extra gravy on the side which I would suggest. The food was amazing! The flavor was on point, the bread was fresh, the potatoes were melting and the gravy was not oily and had the perfect consistency.
This is my new favourite place to get Indian food when I am in Joburg.
The setting is informal and the lady behind the counter is sweet and helpful.

Most delicious mutton bunny chows in town!!! Fresh wholesome food! Definitely for those who miss home food from KZN! Never disappoints! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We had chicken curry with two rotties,chicken gyro,lamb gyro,and veg.curry-all was great and very tastefull.The restaurant is a hidden gem in a small shopping mall.
