This is the best coffee shop that serves amazing food. We have been coming here for many years and it's consistently good. You have to try the lamb curry.

Nice coffee shop in Matjiesfontein, we only had Cuppachino and Americano. We will visit them again. Staff is friendly and helpful.

We made a Pit-Stop here and what a Gorgeous little town. The Coffee House had freshly brewed coffee and we had Croissants with it... Cold outside but the Fire was burning inside and we were very very cozy... Thank you to the friendly staff❤!!!

Do yourself a favor, stop here for a coffee break if nothing else! (+ clean bathrooms) Now that I’ve hopefully got your attention, we stopped here for the first time in what is more than 10 drives down to the Cape. This one horse town is adorable – frozen in time, and definitely worth the stop. On driving in it may look like a ghost town, but this town with its single tar road, old railway station, fire truck from the UK, ox wagon, coffee shop filled with antiques (whether you’re an antique lover or not you’ll be in awe), to a hotel at the end of the road. I haven’t gone as far as looking into ‘Lord Milner’ hotel, the origin of it etc., and I guess I’m too scared to…purely because of our history as a Country, but this little place is well worth the stop over. Stretch your legs and take in the sights of a miniature town that never took off, but has remained operational, grab the perfect cup of coffee from Maaitjiesfontein Coffee House, and if you’re not on diet J a sandwich and roasted potato/chips that come with it. There’s also a small curio shop (sells mostly sweet and savory goods), as well as what looks like B&B’s over and above the Lord Milner Hotel. My family and I just loved the quick stop and snack here and would definitely do this again. Yes, there’s no healthy eating options, but stop and support them…even if it’s only with coffee. A massive thank you to everyone working here to keep the little place running!

Stopped for a quick lunch while driving through. What a quaint village with this gem of a coffee shop in the centre. The coffee was good but the toasted sandwiches were fantastic. Best chicken mayo I've had! The service is good but you have to place your orders and pay at the counter. Be sure to check out the railway station - a piece of history.

A nice walk into the past. The design and attentiveness to the originality of the buildings is really something to see. The "museum" pieces that are outside are really what drove me in to see the street and explore this coffee shop. The back patio was a little hotter due to the lack of breeze, but the fountain was a nice touch to keep us distracted while we had out coffee.

Matjiesfontein is a must stop if you heading past on the N1. The town has so much character and the coffee shop just gives you that snacking with friends feel. The service is warm and genuine. The toasted sarmies were delicious and beautifully presented with tasty fried baby potato halves.
