Stopped here by chance to take a call. The place was full and buzzing and decided to return to check it out.

Ordered hake and chips, a seafood basket and 10 oysters and 3 drinks. Total was less than R370 and portions were huge , the kids could not finish theirs.

Fish was fresh and delicious and the oysters were massive in size for R18 each. A bargain. Would have preferred an oyster fork .

Owner was friendly , polite and welcoming.

Worth a visit for good ol fashioned fish and chips.

P.s not fine dining but a a proper sitdown take away complete with wrapping paper.

Went to Sailor Sam on the recommendation of a friend for lunch. The place was chocobloc full so we returned for supper. Fish was fresh, mussels full of flavor and my son loved the oysters. Reasonable prices and friendly owner.

Value for your money...for sure. Not the bests hake and chips I’ve ever had, but still very good. Service is good and the owner seems to have a story or two up his sleeve.

I bought the R75 combo - hake, calamari, 2 × mussels & chips with potato salad extra - absolutely delicious!!! Owner very friendly & helpful. Chatted about the terrible fire & touristy things to do in Knysna!!

If you looking for cheap fresh fish for takeaway then this is place to go.Had calamari, chips and rice and my friend had seafood basket.Fish was quite tasty and mussels quite fresh,chips were okay and rice bit bland .Owner was quite friendly and even exchanged one sauce for us .There is no sit down plates etc,it comes in takeaway bag with plastic cutlery

Being from Cape Town I know about fish and chips. I won't say I'm an expert but I know my stuff. This is by far the best bang for buck fish and chips. Quality fried and grilled fish with freshly baked chips. A taste of home away from home. Everything freshly made on order

Stopped here for a quick bite while touring the Western Cape on my motorcycle. Barely sat down and food was ready. Had calamari and chips. Was very tasty! 100% would recommend.

So delicious! Not halal certified, but they do not serve any alcohol, and have no meat products. Also no alcohol in cooking/ food preparations. Staff are friendly and food was delicious. Hearty old school fish and chips - perfect after a long day exploring Knysna!

A super friendly older man served us and let us choose our own pickle fish so that we could choose the biggest one. The store itself is neat and clean and has lots of jokes etc. Seafood only menu but great experience.
