Excellent atmosphere, wonderful food. Mussels to die for!
We had an amazing experience at Freshline. The food was memorable, and Warren the manager and Jack the waiter were phenomenal. The ambience was rustic and the corkage free, just the way I like it. Four of us had four different starters and mains and none of us were disappointed. If you think they are a bit expensive you will quickly find that they are worth every cent. Highly recommended!
The food was fresh, the service friendly and the oysters was great value for money. This might just have been the best seafood i have ever had. Will recommend it to anyone. You will definitely see me again.
The parents wanted fish and chips and after reading the reviews, I picked Freshline. We went with classic fried hake and chips and the fussy parents were most impressed. One warning, chips are a separate item, but even so, it's great value for money
Great for kids. Staff is friendly and well informed and manager visible throughout the restaurant. Food is fresh and plenty it. I forgot my phone in the bathroom and a staff member found it and gave it to the manager.

Fun experience!
Wish we knew it's a B.Y.O.D. We were so hungry we didn't want to drive to go and get wine.
Very chilled and relaxed atmosphere, they should consider adding more music to their playlist 😂.
Friendly and helpful staff, quick service. The food was delicious. They can add a little bit more flavour to their sauces though.
Not eaten for 4 days after running the washie100miler, I was hungry and fresh fish sounded great visiting.
Having little expectation beforehand, our meal was terrific.
For starters we had the 4 scallops for R29 although there were 5 on the plate, that were tender and tasty with good seasoning.
My wife and I then shared a mussel pot, which was the best mussels I have ever had. Fresh, soft and served with a thin cream and vegetable source.
For my 3 daughters, we ordered a whole fish for them to share. An average 500g fish is around R100-R150 and I would say this is one idea of how to eat here. We ordered the cob, that was excellently prepared crispy on the outside and tender and moist inside.
My wife and I enjoyed the seafood platter with a crayfish and 4 king prawns. These were all fresh, and as a prawn lover the best I have ever had.
The crayfish was perfectly done, tender and ever sweet.
Other tables I saw the hake fish and chips specials wasn't the usual variety but rather served as 3 of 4 hake medallions on the plate.
Sitting undercover with your feet in sand, in a casual dining experience with the most fresh fish one can have.
Not licenced but welcome to bring your own.
Fresh fish available also to be bought over the counter to take home.
Best fish I have had in SA.
Not fine dining, but a unadulterated best fresh fish experience.
Amazing fried fish and calamari, very unique batter that will have you eating more than you should :)
We also had the seafood bisque, a real winner!
I love the outside area with a very beach feel, the old school music is just too cool!!
Lunch here proved for us that sometimes first impressions are wrong! We were slightly put off by the not so welcoming fishy smell from the next door delivery site and the fact that the restaurant doesn't have a liquor licence but after a quick trip to the bottle store and the friendly service we were happy with our choice. The selection of seafood on their menu is impressive, however a few of the options were unavailable. Starters for the table were all a hit, with the exception of the scallops. Mains included fried fish, seafood paella and a seafood platter. Although the paella was more a seafood rice than anything else, everything was delicious and the fried fish proved to be the best we had tried in Knysna, really crispy without being oily. And how could you go wrong with Malva pudding and ultramel custard for dessert. Really pleasant lunch with good service and a nice vibe, would definitely go back!
Freshline Fisheries have the same owners as the Rib & Rump restaurant next door, and we were told we can order from both menu's. We were a group of 7 people and all ordered from their fish menu. We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food. The place weren't busy as we were the first clients there.
The food was delicious when it eventually came, just be careful as the sides they ask what you want with your food is not includes in the price.
They do not have a liquor licence so you are welcome to bring your own alcohol with no corkage fee.
We had to ask 4 different waiters and wait another 35 minutes just to get our bill.
