Probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted. Calamari was amazing!!! Portions are incredibly huge so I suggest sharing a meal
Very basic setting with a self service type of approach but the fish and chips were absolutely fresh and delicious!
Well priced and decent clean seating for really fresh dish&chips.
I would highly recommend for those visiting kalk bay.
We also ordered a fresh and tasty side salad.
The menu is simple but great.
Ordered the lucky platter that comes with 4 huge prawns, fried calamari, fish and chips. As usual, very tasty and super filling. Never disappointed with anything ordered here. Good value for money and quick service. Good Sunday lunch.

Calamari can do with less herbs - but still very fresh and good texture, overall good quality.
So after the Cape Peninsula Marathon I was feeling for some fish and chips. Luckys was nearby to satisfy that need and they are really good. I ordered take away as I just completed a marathon and I can recommend them. I ordered the calamari, hake and snoek for a family lunch and the taste was spot on. Service was quick and on point but i must say it was early morning and no one was really in the restaurant. The food was fresh. Only small complaint was that the hake was a bit over cooked but I would still recommend this place for good old fish and chips.
Best fried fish and calamari in Cape Town. Portions used to be much bigger but still great value for money. Eat fish and chips next to the sea, enough said.
After being seated for lunch and then told there was "no fish" at Live Bait, we left and braved the queues for Hake and Chips at Lucky Fish next door. The fish was perfectly cooked, fresh, firm, and flaky. Washed down with a cold castle light, it was wonderful! The tartar sauce is the only let down (yellow, smooth, boring).
This fish shop is really yummy one of the better ones atm since a lot of them are not nearly as good as they used to be. Fresh, fried deliciousness

If you're in the mood for a quick bite and on a budget, Lucky Fish & Chips is the place to go. Fresh fried hake, crispy chips will hit the spot! Calamari is pretty good aswell, very chilled takeaway vibes go early before the lunch time rush as it can get very busy!
Simply the freshest and best fish and chips I've ever had. Value for money like nothing else and delicious. The Angel fish special is the best value meal and tastes great but whilst portions on the snoek and calamari are huge. 3 meals will easily feed 4.
Worth the drive out just for this.
