Love it the ambiance the surrounding and staff are fantastic. Have had the odd bad service but not anything to moan about - could not possibly compare this to Ocean Basket like I have seen in the odd review. You get what you pay for and Bronwen our waitress was fab.
Absolutely delicious cuisine, well trained waitresses, spacious table placements and a great atmosphere. To top it off, the most beautiful view of waves crashing while you sip your fresh oyster with tabasco off the shell
As always food doesn’t disappoint. Service was poor, no front of house on arrival and waiter was mostly absent during service. Get more staff.
Fantastic Sushi with a beautiful view of the ocean. The kingklip with parsley risotto, lemon preserve and hollandaise sauce is delicious and highly recommended. Staff are very helpful and service is great. It can get busy during peak season so make sure you make a reservation.
What a seafood delight and overall great experience. The staff took great care of us and directed us to the seafood selection which is an absolute win for any seafood lovers
Wonderful experience! Five star treatment from the manager and staff. The food is presented eloquently and tastes impeccable. Amazing views and great ambiance. The sea life will entertain you during your short wait for your meal. Definitely recommended.
No doubt that this Restuarant is absolutely beautiful, overlooking the harbour, fishermans boats and oceans.. the setting is so breathtakingly beautiful .
The food is great , loved all of it , the service is amazing, had the best waitron who was an absolute delight and ensured we had everything we needed ..
Seafood platters are pricey , but we never ventured , but a selection of everything else which did not disappoint
A quick lunch stop turned into an occasion. Went in by chance. A spectacular setting, huge open windows overlooking False Bay have to make this one of the most awesomely beautiful views in the world.
Extensive daily special menu well explained by the waiter - we took two dishes as they were, and they also obligingly made two not on the menu. The fish was sublime. Beautifully presented, and cooked perfectly.
I loved the food and the ambience.I would recommend the seafood platter, the crayfish and prawns were divine. The location is beautiful as the restaurant is set along the seaside and the service was excellent too!
One of our all time favorite places. Probably the best restaurant views in the country. Food and service has always been 5 star. We had beetroot carpaccio starters. Highly recommended. Presentation was stunning and the variety of flavors they managed to cram into this dish was spectacular. Next was the line finish, Hake. What they managed to do with a fish that is sometimes seen as quite ordinary was fantastic. As a side dish, take the mash potatoes. You have never had mash like this. Potatoes on steroids. We rounded the meal off with Creme Brûlée and Tiramisu fit for a Michelin. On this occasion it was our anniversary. They made such an occasion of the moment. See attached pic of my wife’s dessert. To top it off they gave us a stunning bottle of wine as an anniversary present. What a night. Ever thankful.
Beautiful location. Ask for a table next to the window though if you want to feel like you’re at the sea.
Really good service and friendly waitress. We ordered the cod fish on garlic mash with a Japanese mayo that was on special and mushroom gnocchi with crispy butternut shards.
Unexpectedly the gnocchi was one of the best I’ve ever had. The fish was also very tasty. Would definitely go again.
Great great place! Outside of festive season; Harbour House really tends to come out of its shell. A chilled Sunday evening in March was the perfect time to try them out again and boy did they deliver. Tried 4 of the 7 starters on the menu and ALL of them delivered; the Masala Calamari is mindblowing and the Ceviche is so well put together. The Mains were great too; rack of lamb was spot on medium rare with some unique combinations of rosemary & peppercorn spices & the Kingklip was unbelievable with that Salsa Verde and the poached egg (risky but pulled it off).
One downer I guess was the structure of the service; there tends to be a greater emphasis on finishing the customer's bottle of wine than the change over of side plates, cutlery and napkins after each course. There needs to be less emphasis on the commercial aspect (turnaround of wine bottles) and more attention to detail on how the table looks & feels. Otherwise, 100%.
