The year is 2011; I am in London for the first time; I have just eaten the best curry of my life; my reasoning is that if I could find such an amazing curry in London I can definitely find something better in South Africa; this is followed by years of disappointment and resentment until in 2017 I eventually try Chilli Pickle; my mission is complete.
From the outside Chilli Pickle doesn't look like much and because of this I have frequently driven past it which was a mistake on my behalf.
The food is flavourful and nearly my definition of a perfect meal. I have tried a few of the curries and have always been satisfied. Initially the price may seem a little steep but the portions are large enough that I had two full meals from it.
If you are trying Chilli Pickle out you should definitely try the Butter Naan which is freshly made and more-ish. We have never been disappointed with our orders from Chilli Pickle.
Great place to go have some Indian cuisine !! And enjoy a good Bunny Chow. Their lamb curry is amazing and hot like needed! Be careful if you not a hot person with tongue buds 👌🏼
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We popped in to look at the menu and were convinced by the waiter to try the buffet. The price for the buffet was really reasonable and the food was very tasty. Not too spicy and overpowering. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. The owner was friendly and even agreed to let my younger sibling bring food in from another restaurant because he doesn't eat Indian.
Best Indian food ever. Staf friendly. Curries are really tasty. When u order mild u get it. My husband and I aren't used to very spicy food so when we want mild then it is. You can taste the care in marination and food is tasty. Naan breads are made the authentic way on a hot rock and all food is cooked by proper north Indian chefs. Well done!!
We were in the area and wanted some good Indian food. We gave Chilli Pickle a try after seeing the ratings, and overall we were pleased. The paneer kadai was really nice. We were also pleased with the paneer tikka—with the taste and the portion size. We also ordered chicken vindaloo but that was a little disappointing. We both agreed we had better chicken vindaloo elsewhere. The chicken in it was a little tough and dry for our liking. Butter naan and roti both nice. I would come back again and try other things.

So its only obvious when the chilli pickle opened up i had to be there. and well i've been going there ever since.
the chilli pickle makes really fresh Indian food, tasty and as authentic as it gets around this area. i have tasted about 85% of their menu and it seems no matter what i choose i am always presented with a dish of absolutely delicious tastes and flavours. obviously such freshly prepared food comes with its own problems such as the long waiting times experienced. my advice is call in and order before getting there.
This establishment is styled quite nice, nothing too fancy. the staff are competent and friendly and all in all this is a fantastic little gem for anyone that enjoys a good plate of food.
i highly recommend the korma, the vindaloo, the butter chicken, all the naan bread, ( I LOVE NAAN ), i mean seriously just pick whatever and it will be enjoyable.
PS - i would like someone that can really eat hot food to order the super extra hot chicken bunny next time their here and just let me know if you could finish it.
Their food is absolutely delicious. Perfect for everyone, even for those that have a picky palate. Great selection of dishes on the menu, plus if there's something you want but isn't on the menu they will try to make it for you. A+ customer service. Definitely going again.
Finally I find good curry in the south of Johannesburg... Highly recommended I did a take away, service was excellent, portion are good :)
I highly recommend this establishment, extremely good quality and also variety of dishes, not to mention good prices. The service is also good.
Today I was craving for some hot and spicy food and I decided to try this place out and wow I enjoyed my meal very nice a turnder lamb I got it was too lovely well you need to try it for yourself.
