Went for dinner with family during Restaurant Week so some of the items were not on the menu. The starters were good, main course and dessert was mediocre. The service was great though. Great experience overall.
Chef Coco rocks! Great food fusion . Classic French meets Africa. Worth a visit . Good service and optimal wine selection. Lovely setting. Very accommodating for personal requests .
I've had the pleasure of dining at Sel Et Poivre
in Morningside's Faircity Hotel - and additionally for media launches, and have always been impressed. The menu is small, but impressive in that dishes are unique, and unlike anything you've seen elsewhere.
Chef Coco has placed a unique Belgian, French & African signature on all his dishes - sometimes a fusion of each, sometimes a dish as distinct as his origins, but I don't think one would be starved for choice at Sel Et Poir. Definitely worth visiting.
Great service and good meals. The fillet was a bit dry but other than that the meals were good. Cosy setting, I recommend a table outside. The menu is a bit limited but the restaurant is definitely worth a try.
A lovely date night with Matthew :) We enjoyed a lovely evening outside with white wine. We had fillet steak and the line fish. Both were absolutely delicious. The steak was a bit dry and smokey. The curried butternut was incredible!! We were too full for dessert but we will be back. Great service :) fresh food! It was so lovely to eat under the stars :) the restaurant is a bit pricy but it's not much more than the common, indoor restaurants in the area. We will be back :)
Had dinner there and the food was delicious. Unfortunately it was a quiet night for them so we didn't get much of a feel for the vibe but otherwise great food and establishment.
Had dinner, lunch and breakfast at this restaurant for 5 days. Dinner and lunch was a set menu made for a group of us. Perhaps a consequence of the bulk cooking but the food was not awesome. I did catch a glimpse of other table orders and the presentation was amazing. Will definitely be back to order off the menu.
