We discovered this place quite by accident and were pleasantly surprised. Outdoor seating under the trees with birdsong, and overlooking the kiddies' play area, so that you can keep an eye on the litle ones. So much better than other restaurants where you cannot see the kids at all times. I ordered trinchada (I think that was what it was called) - steak slices in a delicious wine sauce. I can usually never get enough sauce or gravy, but for once I was satisfied. Everything was delicious, even down to the wonderful baked cheesecake. Actually, even the little complimentary shortcake biscuit that came with the cappucino was delicious and home made and you could taste the real butter.

Had a superb meal there last night - their steaks were amazing and there was a good selection of side orders. Nice play area to keep the little ones entertained. Service quick and waitrons very knowledgable. All in all, a great evening!
Great food great venue. Don’t understand why it has such a low rating! I’ll definitely be back! Pity we live in Durban. Thanks for the enjoyable evening.
For a kiddies venue the food and service is surprisingly good.
The chicken salad is wonderful
The pizzas are also good
The burgers are also great
Best play area and separating the babies from the older kids is brilliant
Currently my favorite kiddie friendly restaurant in jhb. They are so good with watching and playing with the kids. Service is fantastic and food is great too.
Ri'Stretto offers a wide range of snacks, pasta and pizza and is a fun place to visit with a special kids area to play. Kids can also make their own pizza and eat it too. The place is great to enjoy like a picnic with kids playing in their zone and you having relaxing time all under the sun. The place serves vegetarian Pasta and pizza too along with several other dishes for non vegetarians. Though the place is a little bit costly but the ambience and decor is really nice. Go visit with family or friends and you won't be disappointed if you like Italian food. Thanks
We hosted our son's 1st birthday party here for a Sunday breakfast, for around 60 people. From the first inquiry we were greeted with a "can-do" and welcoming attitude, which made the planning and arrangements a breeze. The day ran smoothly, with all the waiters assigned to our section keeping a close eye on guests, and tending to all needs in a friendly and efficient manner. They have a large play area for kiddies, with ample child minders on hand. We were allowed to set up a photo booth for guests' party favors, and everyone had great fun. The food was outstanding, and our guests could not get enough of the cappuccinos and fresh fruit juices. There are also many kiddies options available on their "Bambino" menu, with a downstairs section and pizza oven dedicated to a "build your own pizza" activity. Security gate to keep the small ones from sneaking out, and also a boomed-off parking lot which is shared with the Garden Court Hotel. The owners/managers/waiters were very accommodating, and we felt right at home and comfortable. Although we expected minor errors on the bill due to the large group, we were happy to find that it was spot on and accurate. Our guests were all impressed, and we will most certainly host future events here. Thank you to Ramon, Armando, Arnold, and all others involved!
Probably the third time we've stopped by and there can be no doubt - Ri'Stretto is an oasis for parents seeking to regain some of their sanity while the kids burn off excess energy.
Yes, I get it, the food is far from gourmet - But in a world where the rhythm is set by toddlers; prompt service, novelty and consistency are king. And the free chocolate butter cream cupcake was a hit (with my two year old son and myself)
Stick to the pizza and pasta if you're on a budget. Somehow the seafood pricing didn't make sense - And ultimately, who wants to be arguing about the quality of the dish because of the expectation created by the price-point.
But there can be no doubt - Ri'Stretto is geared for the little ones. And this is where they excel. What more could a parent want than full tummies and tired eyes on the way home.
Great place for families with children. Burgers were very good, lamb shank were good, Fillet sandwich was tasty but steak was tough which does not make sense. Service was good and desserts was huge!! The rocky road is for sure worth a try. Kids love the playgrounds and kids pizzas. Overall a recommendation to have a visit.
Tasty food, reasonably priced.
Lots to do for the kids including great child minders.
Attentive service. Very happy. Will come again for sure.
