Johan, vreeslik baie dankie vir n heerlike ete by die Plaaskombuis.
The owner of Plaaskombuis made a very good decision in moving his venue from Bergbron to Weltevreden Road, Blackheath. It is situated in a beautiful Cape Dutch house surrounded by a lovely and peaceful garden. The menu still has all the traditional lekker kos!
This is one of those hidden gems. It is inside a tiny garden centre, on a quiet street in a nondescript suburb, so you could easily miss it. However, it is worth going out of your way for. They specialise in offering traditional Afrikaner fare, so you will get things like “roosterkoek” and “pap en kaiings” which you will struggle to find anywhere else. The food is good, service is friendly and the location is pleasant. Can get a bit busy at peak times on weekends, and some if the specialities (kaiings and boerekoffie) aren’t made on quiet weekdays. Worth a visit.
You are pleasantly greeted with homemade ginger beer on arrival. A very sweet touch. The menu is rather limited for choice although very authentic South African style options. Coffees were cold when they got to the table but the awesome, jam packed chicken and mayo jaffell made up for that. The chips are amazing, they taste more like mom's roast potatoes at Sunday lunch. Overall great atmosphere and awesome food
A real farm style authentic restaurant that every foodie should have on their bucket list. Catering for everyone's childhood favorites made to perfection. My hubby had a delicious trip back to yesteryears while enjoying the kondesmelk koffie en melkos!
Very authentic meals. Coffee was very nice and good vibe. Was surprised. Will def go back there. Highly recommend of you like south african food. You also get free ginger beer when getting there.
Where do I begin. Honestly I love this place. It's like a little gem you really need to experience.
If you looking for that Santon vibe then don't come here! If you want to kuier with your family and friends and have an awesome meal....then definitely come here.
They make traditional Boerekos the way your "ma" made it. Jaffels and kaijengs and French toast and pap and and and.....o and they serve coffee and complimentary home made ginger beer.
What more can I say about Plaaskombuis....
Supremely well priced with outstanding value. The portions are incredibly generous and the staff are very friendly!! Expect rough and ready and you will thoroughly enjoy your experience!!

We came to this hidden gem for lunch today and all I
can say is that it's tasty, traditional boerekos! We were greeted by friendly staff and complimentry homemade ginger beer which was great! I then had a cuppacino (of course) followed by a cheese and mince jaffel with potato chips and a trio of side salad. There are a lot of things I still want to try on their menu so we will definately be back!! Cuppycake
