This place is my happy place. The buffet is always delicious, nutritious, simple flavours that make my heart warm like mom’s cooking!
The manager, Linde, greets me with a smile and by name (as she does all her customers) and always before going through what the kitchen has prepared with me.
Off the menu, the freshly squeezed juices are divine, the burger almost feels guilt free and falafel wrap is one of the best I’ve had!
Great menu, best vegetarian lunch buffet, friendly staff. Healthy breads especially on Wednesday and Friday. Natural health remedies and all sorts of healthy foods and skin care products.
MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IN JOHANNESBURG. Fruits and Roots is a really cute restaurant with the best buffet I’ve ever had. It’s out daily and there are always loads of vegan options such as curries, bakes, salads, grains etc. their menu is also amazing (the wraps are great) with really generous portions.

Lovely vegan restaurant / shop. This place sells wide variety of healthy vegan foods. One get to shop after / before meal. Love the idea of buffet during the week, with tasty lasagna, curry, pasta, salads, veggie pie, chickpeas balls, cauliflower cream and lots more to choose from. Everyday the chef may makes different dishes. If you choose to order from menu, you can also enjoy a fulfilling meal. A great option for those work around Bryanston area. Don't forget to pop by if you are there.
Fruits & Roots brings out my inner "hunter-gatherer"! Love that I can shop, snack and blog... around all my favourite animal & gluten-free deliciousness!! All the food is super yummy, fresh and exciting and offered a la carte or harvest table style. The staff are also cheery, eager and knowledgeable. My only complaint would be that it is all a bit on the pricey side (even the store products are about 20% more than competitors) but for the "one stop shop" convenience it's worth the premium.
Awesome food from the buffet section as always! I love the warm reception. Delicious vegetarian food. Awesome dessert options for people with food intolerances. Had an amazing chai latte with almond milk yummmy! The only reason they are getting a 4 instead of a 5 is their new buffet weighing method. It's more expensive. A buffet should have a standard price. The people who moan about not eating a lot should be offered smaller plates with a lower standard price. I find it pointless to pay R 110 for this plate yet not be able to take whatever is left as takeaway because its a Buffet.
I love this place for its health alternatives - gluten-free, vegan, etc.! The food is generous and actually tastes wonderful! 🍉 The falafel is delish! I wasn't a fan of their smoothies, but the juices are fresh and good. It's also great to be able to buy groceries - I do wish there were more organic fresh produce!
A lovely little spot to grab healthy & fresh food. One can either order off the menu or enjoy a lovely harvest table. I highly recommend the Thai veg curry.
Green Thai Curry + Frozen Lemonade. Awesome summer combo. The curry was hearty and filling without being too rich - cashews added a nice crunch. The lemonade was amazing!
It's always great to have a heathy, vegan, wholesome restaurant to go to. The cafe attached to the shop here has a wonderful lunch buffet that is fully vegan and can be enjoyed by all! They a have nice menu and treats to choose from too, it is quite a small menu though and the food itself is quite simple. Service is friendly and welcoming. There is an outdoor seating area which is much nicer than sitting in the shop but the atmosphere is a bit flat overall. The shop has all the vegan and healthy products you could want, but it is more expensive than other stores with the same products. Would recommended it for simple healthy vegan lunch.
