The ambiance and the thinking behind the art, creative arrangement of the interior is incredible to experience, sheew but the food is mmmmh does not match the quality of the ambiance please take this positively🫶 I ordered a duck salad and I got something like viennas sliced, the orange added on the salad looked like a left over taken from another eats it was not pleasant but I enjoyed the time spent and what the café unlocks. I hope to enjoy your real duck one day😎
We only had potato skins and cocktails, but they were good and so was the service. I loved the decor and overall theme of the place. Very cute. We were also told they have live music and/or DJ's on some nights, so hopefully we get to go back soon. They did have karaoke while we were there and it was fun.
First time in the area. Seems dodgy at first, but the vibe is great!
This place is absolutely stunning, one of those places which you have to go back more than two or three times for the adventure!
Went out for brunch recently at Bertrand Cafe and definitely enjoyed the experience, only left because of the weather.
Will definitely be back to try other meals on their menu😋 the vibe is very chilled so brace yourself for the service, it's friendly service but a bit slow so be patient because the food will be worth the wait.
There are different types of scenery at the establishment being the bar area, indoor couches for chilled romantic dates , indoor dining for family or something a bit more structured and outside which I totally enjoyed and fell in love with their floral couch while listening to some good music
what a beautiful place, it felt familiar and homey. the staff is friendly and make you feel like a friend. i look forward to having more amazing memories and experiencing the jazz lounge thoroughly.
This joint easily becomes my favourite in the City. The antique furniture and decor is welcoming and homely. You walk into this place and you get a feel of a backyard chillas with your friends from the outside sitting area. The bar and lounge area upstairs reminds you of how cultural we are as a people; from our taste in music, to our crowded lounge areas.
The [Black] Wall of Fame is a perfect historical representation of how far music has carried us through all that we've been through. The founding of this establishment was intentional and I for one, will keep coming back. To the owners, Merci.
Bertrand Cafe really caught me off-guard. It's the place, vibe and environment that I've been looking for in Johannesburg for a very long time. Homely, warm, welcoming and refreshing.
Bertrand's place is divided in three section. An outdoor section by the street with a great view of the busy Maboneng. When you step in your are welcomed by what feels like your grandmother's house but with a twist, urban music, rumba, African jazz and amazing decor. Keep on walking and you'll find yourself in a completely different setting with a bar in a closed section of the restaurant.
The decor will keep you looking around while you enjoy their food. The food is authentic and very rich.
Really worth a visit. A hidden gem.
The Jazz Lounge is beautiful and cozy, Cafe outside might be a bit busy for someone's liking but they do have an inside seating which is beautiful. Classic and Elegant
Went there last weekend with my friends(ladies evening😉) had wine and food. Omg the food (chicken plater)😍😋so yummy, like I don't eat chicken but that one was 🙌. I salut the chef😘. Catch me every weekend 😉, Gloria was our waitress, that girl is so lovely, great smile and kind.
