I had one of the most authentic dimsums in the city. Food was very good, service was agile and efficient enough. It was just that the restaurant was pretty cold because of bad weather. I wish we had a heater.
best Chinese food ever. Big tables, pur Chinese waiter was very cheerful and had perfect knowledge of the menu
I highly doubt you will find a better dimsum brunch anywhere in South Africa. They serve this only on Sunday’s from about 10am onward. Either get their early, book or prepare to wait for a table. Ive had this brunch at least 10 times over the years. Never had a bad dish. Every dish you have is authentic, equivalent to eating Contonese in Guangzhou even.
There is also an alacarte menu available for during the week lunch and dinner, but this dimsum brunch is what you need to go for.
I went there with some friends for Chinese New Year dinner.
Positives:
1. Their traditional Chinese tea is a must try. They've got many different flavours and I recommend the Chrysanthemum tea.
2. Their beef was tender and juicy.
3. Crawfish was fresh and perfectly steamed and garnished.
Negatives:
1. Service was a bit slow but the staff was really friendly.
There's a large selection of authentic Chinese dishes, explore and give yourself a chance to try out anything that catches your eye on the menu. Their food is pricier than most other Chinese restaurants but you're paying for that authentic flavour. The ingredients are fresh and probably sourced on the day as they are right next to the local market.
Deliciously flavoured, well prepared authentic dim sum buffet. Such a great variety of fresh, piping hot options. Awesome lunch. They also have an a la carte menu.
Go before 11 or book in advance.
Excellent, authentic Chinese cuisine. The best sweet & sour pork,a comprehensive menu that offers a myriad of choices. Clean bathrooms and cold beer. There were many patrons in attendance.
An authentic dining experience in Chinatown, food is delicious and worth the trip. Streets seem dodgy but is safe with heavily armed guards, expect to have some difficulty ordering (language) but all in all part of the experience. Lastly, go up the alley stairs to the top to get to the restaurant.
One of the best and most authentic places to get dim sum in Joburg. Go through on the weekend and partake in the dim sum buffet or order off their menu.
Some great dishes that they serve: char siu bao, Cheung fun, congee, dumplings, garlic pork ribs, cucumber salad, beef chow fun, custard tarts… it’s best to just go through and try out everything for yourself!
A hidden gem in this neck of the woods. Has an amazing dumpling spread on Sundays apparently. Fresh, delicious food.
Great place for different type of dinning experience , Remember to order Tsingtao beer 🍻
