I so enjoy shopping at the shop in Linden. The staff are friendly and helpful. The meat is supurb and the biltong is the best I have tasted. The best fresh free range eggs available and the most wonderful raw honey.
Firstly I would like to say - all the haters will hate, but real MEAT loving customers know that Country Meat is our GO TO place for HIGHEST quality meat & service! I love the fact that Country meat is a family run butchery and has a "farm-to-butcher" status! Country meat has always ensured that I receive the highest quality meat on my plate for me to sink my meat-luvin teeth into! Also - the freshest of fresh cuts of meat for me to enjoy - everyday , in every way :) I drive from Roodepoort to Fourways to get my monthly meaty fix! I have no complaints / just compliments for my trusted butcher: Country meat!
We have just returned from a long trip to KNP, with overseas guests. My large order of meat was vacuum packed and deep frozen, which was done as ordered. The meat was superb, the beef and lamb was tender and succulent, chicken was also very good. My overseas guests were very impressed by the high standard of meat, as well as the packaging. Thanks to all concerned

Not the greatest selection and cuts of meat but what they have looks really good and well priced. The layout is open, clean, and modern. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a nice little restaurant towards the back which has a nice view over looking a pond and the, namesake, lone hill.
Probably the highest quality meat you will come across. The quality does demand an acceptable premium, but it's worth it. My partner has never once gotten heart burn from their meat. Highly recommend trying the lamb/chilli droë worse
I ordered the Shisa Nyama package and it was flipping good!!!! No burnt pieces(thank goodness)lol, cooked to perfection. I loved the salads that came with it. Mind you it was my first time ordering from yol and I was abit worried... but ey, my man and I enjoyed the meat. The service was excellent. When I called the gentleman(Owen), he was very helpful with how one can order. Thank you. I will definitely be a regular customer.
Bought some of their in-house wagyu beef and it was by far the best wagyu I've had in JHB this far. Quality was exceptional. Customer service is obviously important to them, which I've experienced from direct responses to social media posts and private messages. You can expect good quality meat and a personalized service, where they actually take an interest in you, as an individual customer. 5 stars are more than deserved here, best butchery service I've ever received.
my wife and i had the wagyu burgers at the restaurant at the back. slightly pricey, but oh boy, were they good. we then bought the wagyu patties to fry up at home when they were on special. i fried them up a bit too well done, but they were still juicy, soft and we agreed that they were the best burgers we've ever had at home (just finished eating them now, but we were too hungry to pause for photos first).
Nice and clean shop. You get good value for money if you buy the specials (though prices are still on the high end of the special range). For the rest, Northern suburb prices apply. Will I go back? Yes. But you have to PriceCheck.
Probably the best local butchery in Lonehill! Great selection and quality. You can also select your meat and they will grill it for you on the spot, while you relax looking out over the small dam onto Lonehill koppie.
