A very nice place - inside, or outside under the bougainvilleas. Waitron ('hate that word!) Anthea was very friendly and accommodating. Granny and I shared a salad and each had a starter from their menu of Traditional Greek all-sorts - more than enough for a Saturday lunch, so not an expensive outing.

The family and I have enjoyed many a good authentic Greek experience at this restaurant and enjoyed it for it's good service and genuine Greek fair. A great atmosphere and I enjoy the Chatter with the "service personnel", they make the evening fun! There Plates of Mixed Mezze, make a wonderful ice-breaker and you can enjoy everything from crispy fried Aubergine to Dolmades and Greek Meatballs. Then move on, if you have a big appetite to mains but don't miss a wonderful choice of desserts. Highly recommended.

Best pitas I have ever eaten. Friendly service even though I only popped in to order takeaways, and then had to order another on the Mr D app. Soo yummy. Will definitely go back for a sit down meal soon.

Lovely atmosphere as we celebrated a 60th and a farewell and sat outside. Good service, friendly staff. The platters were awesome. So great to taste different authentic Greek food. The chips were devine...best ever and those little meatballs...could have eaten a plate full of them! No complaints, definitely worthwhile a visit, but know it will be more than once. A great Greek experience all in all !!🤗👏👏

It was a quiet night, but the food was great and service efficient and friendly. Loved the family of kitty's in the tree. There was an unfortunate whiff of human urine that wafted over from somewhere, which was a bit off-putting, so I'd suggest sitting inside maybe? But highly enjoyable overall.

Great restaurant for a meal or a group event. The outside seating is fantastic for enjoying the amazing food under the trees. They even offer clay plates for festivities. Best Greek food around town and definitely worth a visit.

This place is absolutely appalling. It's run down and dirty, with cats running in and around the tables. I ordered 2 portions of mosaca which was, more than an hour later, dreadful. I'm quite honestly supprised it keeps its doors open. It's dreadful.

Probably give it a 5.5 out of 10. This place has tons of potential like adding more flavour into the food and really upping its game with fresh ingredients to show case Greek food. Greek salad was ok, meat below average. Delicious pita bread though but all in all the restaurant feels like it’s in a bit of a rut. Outside setting was cute but right in the middle of a parking lot.

My husband and I were here for lunch on a Sunday. Indoor and outdoor seating. Parking sorta okay. Service was nothing to rave about. Food was below average for us. Only enjoyed dish was the chicken livers.

This is such an awesome place. The food is delicious although 3 people out of our party of 7 felt that the servings were too small. Two of us had a chicken and halloumi pita with chips which was really tasty. One person had the moussaka and said it was very nice, another had a platter for one who said it was delicious but too much food for one and the rest had different versions of calamari and all said it was very good. Our waitress, unfortunately I did not get her name, was amazing. She has got the most awesome personality for this job. All in all a wonderful afternoon/evening. Thank you to the waitress and the team in the kitchen.

My wife and I visit at least once a month and have never been disappointed. Food has always been tasty and served quite quickly. Never had to wait long. Enjoy the outside area and when its cold, inside is cozy with the fire burning.

I really cannot understand why this place isn't rated higher than 3.5 I have been coming here for years and really never had an issue besides slow service on a busy night It's the only authentic... the Kaleftico (god I hope i spelt it right) is gold really eat your fingers off good Sure cresta has Plaka and and and but if you in the area then try this place

Had a chat with the owner today while grabbing lunch, lekker guy just don't argue with him about Greek food hahaha. Food was good as usual, grabbed a vegetarian pita as well for a change and turned out very nice which surprised me as I'm not a veg person. Had a meze platter to share to, spinach didn't taste 100% but everything else was quite tasty.. Nice outside area to sit down and the overall vibe really feels like a small restaurant in Greece, service was good and will always be back when it's time for another yiro. So went back today for a platter and wow i was definitely impressed, best meal I've had there to date. Had the meze for two and between us we couldn't finish It, pricing is average but quality was tops today

So today I decided to go to the Greek Sizzler Bandburry cross for lunch, I ordered a Spinach and feta yiro only to find a part of a sosatie stick inside my wrap that I bit into. Not good!. I also ordered chips which looked like they were from someone else's plate and had parts bitten off, tasted old too. I have had a few good meals from there, however this was definitely not one of them.

We felt like nice little platters,bpitas, dips and wine, exactly the "greek" way so our friend told us about The Greek Sizzler and off we went. The food was nice enough and very well priced, they had a great wine selection and over all we had a nice evening. But there were a few things bothering... First of all when you park you feel quite unsafe in the area, even sitting outside made me hold my handbag a little tighter. Then when we arrived home my husband and I both had horrible heartburn and bad stomach aches... We didnt leave there feeling it was a bad experience, I just think they need a new location, and up a little bit on the freshness and prep of their food.

What a disappointment... With a desire for a great Greek meza platter and fresh Mediterranean flavours we were sadly let down. The chicken livers were cold yet they had a hint of spices and potential. The calamari tasted of rancid butter and were totally overlooked, a far cry from the advertised "known for". The lamb kebabs were dry and tasted awful. There are so many fabulous eateries around... Just keep driving

Greek food at it's best. No frills, just tasty, simple food. The setting is rustic and during the summertime sitting in the courtyard is lovely. The numerous times we've been we have always been very satisfied and happy. Some of the higher end Greek restuarants should learn a thing or two from the Sizzler.

Great Haloumi starter. Enjoyed the liver starter but a bit too hot and too much sauce and why brown bread instead of pita? . The Meatballs were nice and soft and the half chicken ample in size and flavour. Again the Peri-peri basting was very hot and should have been offered on the side. Hot cappuccino and the wine by the glass choices great.

Fantastic local Greek joint. I love the yiro in pita. The size is perfect. Pair it with chips and extra tzatiki and you have a delicious winner. It's the perfect spot for an initimate dinner. Their tiramisu is divine. I love coming here with my boyfriend. Service is good as well but it really depends on the waiter.

I have not given the sizzler the highest rating and that is simply because after all the years I've given them a chance I am faced with both sides of the spectrum. The ambiance is always good and the proximity to neighbouring tables is just right, so you feel apart and still private enough. The service is 80% on the good side of the spectrum, however the food is the lottery, where you can have the most amazing presentation and taste and then it's awful. The management also can be borderline rude and I must add, NEVER to me, but quite unprofessionally to neighbouring tables, which can really destroy a lunch or dinner out. I will return and hopefully it will be one of my amazing experiences, but with so much competition you will have to up your game on consistently

Really great food, the calamari and halloumi are my best tapas dishes here and the venue is a nicely tucked away hidden gem. The staff are friendly, the service is fast and the restaurant is perfectly sized so you don't feel like you've been crammed into a sardine tin - if you're in the mood for Greek food, this is an awesome spot to try out.

This a is a hidden gem, unfortunately in Joburg we don't have enough Greek restaurants but luckily this one is literally around the corner from me, we had their mezze platter between the three of us and it was outstanding, everything tasted fresh, the dips were divine, the meat cooked to perfection and the pita bread all complemented everything so well! Their prices aren't bad for what you get considering we took left overs home with us, the manager constantly checking up on us and the friendly waiters was the cherry ontop. The decor is nice and got that Greece feel, they even have a jungle gym for the kids to play on. Will be going there again without a doubt.

Serious hidden gem! I have seen this restaurant a few times and didn't think much of it. Once you step inside you enter an authentically Greek atmosphere - a gorgeous courtyard which I can't wait to try in the warmth of spring and summer and a cosy, traditional interior warned by a large fireplace. The food is super tasty and very humble. The portions aren't massive, but we did all leave satisfied. Simple, down to earth, delicious food. Their pita bread is so fresh and soft, it can make your day! The calamari was tender and perfectly cooked. Awesome flavour and a definite favourite for me. I will be back!!!

This has to be one of my favourite greek restaurants in the world. I Mostly enjoy their specials, or their fish of the day. I love the service, the vibe, scenery and mostly their little starters before they bring out your order. They are not too pricey, but their worth it. This place is great for birthdays and gatherings.

This place has sizzlers in its name but not on the menu. I was craving for sizzlers and found this place on zomato. Reached there with bunch of friends for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was perfect for a Sunday hangover lunch. Amazing ambience with awesome outdoor seating. The menu and music was authentic, I mean Greek as they claim. Ordered for some sizzler which was served on plates (didn't expect sizzlers to be served on plates). Even worse sizzlers weren't sizzling, they weren't even hot. May be thats how people have sizzlers in Greek. The only thing I liked here was the Greek salad, come on!! one goes to a restaurant just to have Greek salad.

Disgusting & disappointing! We will never return. Food was dry and overpriced. When we requested a plate of chips to substitute the gross rice-we were told "sorry there are no more chips for the day" after we waited 20 minutes. Service was actually good.

The Greek Sizzler is definitely one of my favourite restaurants. The food is so delicious with very generous portions (up my alley). Of course, Greek needs to tickle your fancy, rich flavours, the lamb is always succulent (as I should expect!) and the ever gorgeous tzatziki is always a must... and maybe some ouzo for a kick. Lovely staff and reasonable service. My birthday dinner choice, hands down. Love. Jambo.

Tasty food let down by poor presentation. They were out of dolmathes. Uneven ambience with music alternating between enjoyable simple Greek folkishness and overloud Eros Ramazzoti. Two wait staff for large space and an extremely sour faced manager. Overpriced at R540 for two (no alcoholic beverages; including 12% tip).

The squid heads portion was extremely small and the manager was rude and said I should have complained before I started eating (what don;t they have a standardised portion). Even the waiter said he thought I was getting the starter portion and not the main.

Went there for my husband's birthday and was really disappointed. For starters we had the pita with various dips. The pita was tiny and you only get one for five different dips and they charge R23 for this!My husband had the moussaka and it was more or less a dry stodgy flavourless cottage pie. I had the lamb wrap, the wraps are small and I counted exactly six small cubes of lamb in the wrap, oh and if you want chips or salad with the wraps that's an extra 20 or so bucks. We left feeling seriously ripped off for what we got. If you feel like Greek food DO NOT go to The Greek Sizzler!

This is a lovely restaurant. I've had great food here - the platters are a great option when dining with a group and the mezze's are just delicious. This place has a nice outside section with many tables under the trees. It has a nice family vibe but could possibly be great fun for a birthday or some other gathering.
