The food was amazing, prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent! I will definitely recommend Giles to anyone looking for a good restaurant in Jhb.

I have been living, eating, drinking in & around the northern suburbs for over 15years now, so I consider myself well educated on what's hot and what's not. Well that is until this past Saturday, when I was confronted with a rather embarrassing contradiction!
Till this point, somehow, for some reason the universe simply hid this truly remarkable, well established, local friendly, clean, inviting, pub & eatery from me...the guy who has been through every dive bar, back road bar, side bar, pub & eatery in the northern suburbs!
Founders @Giles in Craighall Park was a refreshing undiscovered first for me. the atmosphere for the stormers game against the sharks was jovial, the warm Summers afternoon air, lightly breezing through the large open space of the restaurant, while providing natural views of the surrounding neighbourhood through large glorious open panoramic glassless windows frames.
Now down to what really matters! The food! The drink! Our burgers were done to perfection, the ingredients were fresh, well prepared, the care & passion with which the person who prepared our meal was clearly visible, 3 x perfect creations on our plates in front of us. It's been a while since I have been able to honestly and without hesitation gloat about a "FLIPPIN LEKKER LOCAL PROPER BURGER", well these guys do burgers PROPER china!
The beer selection on tap has good variety, their bar staff are efficient, friendly and professional!
Finally the icing on the cake for me, was discovering of the wine cellar down stairs while exploring my way to the restroom, wine lovers looking for selection & quality for value, I recommend punching Founders @ Giles into your google maps or GPS when looking for a place to go, eat great, drink well with friends, family or those we love.
Tasty food, decent and friendly staff, and pleasant environment and vibe. Coffee machine not working, allegedly (though friends had just had espressos in the restaurant section literally minutes before) but otherwise no complaints.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Would come back anytime.
Founders is a lovely place to go. The food is always good and the service is also really good. It can get quite loud and busy and it is to be expected as it is a pub
We had a good time getting together celebrating. The staff was very accomodating even if were not on our best behaviour, we are sorry. This is a local watering hole but much more and definately a spot to visit when in the area, business or pleasure.

The manager turned a bad situation to a a good one... After a bad experience, he sorted my order and gave me what I actually ordered... Great service, keep it up!
Such a great place!!! Excellent service! Most probably THEEEE best chicken i have had in Jhb.... but of cos just needed a tad hit more "🔥 " "🌶 " thank you @thechillilady for her special sauce indeed... Best crisps!

Nice 'neighbourhood pub' with good food and drinks offering, outside seating and always some sports up on the many screens
