Review Del Forno Blairgowrie - Johannesburg

We wanted to try the Delforno @ Blairgowrie so went for Wednesday date night special. Ordered the starter followed my main dish. The food was good but not the ultimate as something was lacking . I’m sure if they put have attention to detail, they can def. be at par with their closest cousin in Parkmore. Just keep up the good work.

Family owned restaurant that put care and love into their food and service. Their delivery service is amazing and quick. We have never been disappointed with any meal we have ordered. Best pizza in JHB!

Had to have a giggle at Jon Fulcher’s review. Who orders a pizza with 5 extra toppings (gluten free, Vegan cheese but then pepperoni?), doesn’t check what it costs and then wants a refund afterwards. Anyways thought I would balance it out with a 5 star review. Love this place! Could be a bit more generous on the extra toppings for the pastas 😉

Food is never a disappointment. I love anything I eat here. I find that service is better when you are sitting inside rather than outside but otherwise the staff are very polite and friendly. It's normally quiet when I go there but it's lovely to go.

We had a wonderful Dinner with family. The waiters were friendly and efficient. We will definitely be returning

Overall good experience. They have water misters to cool you off in the small outside section-inside looks cozy. You go to Restaurants for the food and it doesn’t disappoint-can recommend the bacon and cheese burger. Penne Alfredo was average and the strawberry dessert was excellent. Service was average but food came out hot so that’s what counts!

The Portuguese chicken pizza is to die for. I've never tasted better. In fact they are so good I order at least once a week. Staff are super friendly. You need to experience this guy's. I promise you won't regret. Thank you to all the staff at Del Forno Blairgowrie. You and your food are awesome.

We got takeaways from Del Fornos a few weeks ago and it was absolutely delicious. <br/><br/>The ingredients were so fresh and so tasty. The pizza wasn’t too doughey and there was a great contrast between the amount of sauce and the amount of cheese. <br/><br/>Also think it’s quite good value for money. Would definitely get another pizza from here soon.

Unfortunately the pizza is not great, by comparison to the Del Forno in Greenside which is in another league. Toppings were sparse, wait times long, there are much better options in the area. The nicest part of the restaurant is the outside section but that is also the smoking area, so if you want to enjoy an al fresco meal be prepared to be smoked out.

You have to go on a Thursday for the live music! Stunning little place with a massive menu for everyone to choose from. Great family vibe but lots of couples having date night too due to the romantic atmosphere. The service is outstanding, Carlos makes sure everyone feels welcome and takes the time to memorize regular customers names. We went for a birthday dinner and he arranged for the staff to sing and dance with the Birthday Boy which was special. <br/><br/>Our food was delicious, we had the salmon starter and the Caprese. For mains we had woodfire pizzas that were great. Loved the range of vegetarian options! The rest of the table had steaks, which they enjoyed despite one being a bit tough although not overdone. Dessert we shared the cookie dough doughnut and a few got chocolates were ordered. Such a fun evening! Highly recommend for a relaxed vibe. <br/><br/>Try the sangria!

Bad service less than average food. Waiting quite a while for our pizza that was not satisfactory to taste even tho it was a big standard pizza... very disappointed as it's happened more than once.

Love it when my local pizza place makes a pizza just for me which is not on the menu. Well spoken lady took the order with no hassles. Very friendly. Although they were busy we received our pizzas via delivery in less than 25 minutes. Chicken liver pizza was devoured as was the chourico pizza. Eaten too fast to take a picture. I haven’t been in Blairgowrie Plaza for a year or two but the other day I was there with my daughter.<br/>Things were much as I remembered them including the Pizza del Forno waterhole.<br/>When we lived nearby we had ordered many good takeaways from it so we didn’t hesitate to go in for lunch.<br/>The pizzas are almost as good as they used to be, or perhaps my memory is playing tricks with me.<br/>I remember the crust as being thinner and crisper, and the Breakfast Pizza was a little short on bacon. <br/>But they were still very good.<br/>I’m glad we went back.

Delicious pizza, fairly prompt service, and they were happy to make me a half and half pizza, but the charge was a more than I thought. Normally for a half and half you pay the full price of the most expensive one. Here they charged slightly less than each full pizza as a half pizza charge which made it quite a lot more expensive. <br/>All in all, a decent meal, but not the best in town. John Godwin

I placed a telephone order at the Blairgowrie branch 23 June 2017. I placed the order when I was still in Midrand!! <br/><br/>When I arrived I made a payment and they told me it would take another 30min. The manager was extremely rude and started threatening me because I got slightly annoyed as I phone SO in advance for a reason. <br/><br/>I would rather order from someone else because a manager should definitely not lose his patience so much with clients. He clearly can't handle stress and is teaching his staff the wrong way to deal with things. <br/><br/>No impressed and I'm actually in shock and so offended. He insisted I cancel my order and get out his shop if I wasn't willing to wait

Very good pasta and pizza specials! My favourite is the roasted Vege and halloumi pasta. Friendly staff and involved owner. Def our go to for pizza and pasta in Blairgowrie

I recently moved to the Blairgowrie area and we had just been to see my new place and were looking for a place to grab a quick dinner. Having been to many other Pizza Del Forno franchises, we know what to expect. What a disappointing experience!<br/><br/>It was a little chilly that evening so we opted for a table inside the restaurant. Despite sitting inside, there was still a cold draft blowning past us. Our waiter was hopeless - she hardly checked up on us or paid attention to our orders. My sister ordered a peach ice tea and she was given a lemon one instead. My brother-in-law and I wanted to order drinks at a later stage but by the time we could even ask for anything, our waiter had disappeared. Our table was short of plates and I actually had to get up and ask the owner of the restaurant for an extra plate for myself. When the food arrived, let's just say that it wasn't the greatest I've had. We ordered a Chicken Mayo pizza and Creamy Spinach pasta to share - I found the pizza dry and the chicken had a strange aftertaste. The pasta, which is usually a firm favourite of mine was not creamy as the name suggests and the spinach tasted sandy.<br/><br/>The cherry on top of our already average experience at this restaurant was another patron who was sitting close to the door and coughing in a manner that was enough to put me off my food! I'm not sure if I would hurry back here!

The best pizza ever. I love the spinach bacon and feta pizza, it is full of flavour, fresh real ingredients are used and is all round amazing. It's definitely the too of my list of favourite foods.

Was in the Randburg area this evening and spotted a Del Forno. Being my favourite pizza franchise we decided to try this one out. The owners seemed friendly, however our waitress was hopeless. She did not offer us anything to drink. We ordered the chicken mayo pizza and the creamy spinach, mushroom and chicken pasta. Food took more than 30mins to arrive. Tried to get our waitress' attention as we still didn't have any drinks. Ordered a peach ice tea and before my husband and sister could ask for a drink she walked away. When she came back she brought me a lemon ice tea instead of peach. The food was quite good, especially the creamy spinach pasta. The other thing that ruined the dinner was a patron in the corner who was coughing, grunting and snorting which made us lose our appetite. Not the best experience at this Del Fornos.

The pizzas are fresh, made with quality ingredients and has the taste of home to it. I can honestly say that it's the best pizza you can get in Randburg. They have a nice wine selection aswell.

Yesterday we had a pizza del forno day. Lunch we got delivered Chicken cheese burgers with extra bacon and chips. I must admit my pallet was smiling. It was such a mouth watering experience! For dinner we decided to do the salad with the bacon and avo. This is where the no 5 star comes in. They a bit shy on the avo :(. But otherwise the salad was scrumptious:D! For a person that isn't really a salad eater I really enjoyed it. Overall the Pizza Del Forno day was a success. You guys really made my lazy day an awesome one! Will definitely return for more!

So accommodating to my vegan requests. Ordered a sandwich with roasted butternut, mushroom and acocado drizzled with olive oil and they added some vegan cheese (which I bought from "Free Food Diner" in Sandton, Birnam) with some perfectly yummy chips on the side. The staff and management always go the extra mile to accommodate special requests. Food was quick, fresh and served with a smile. Definitely recommend this restaurant :)

A few weeks ago we ordered a couple of pizza's in, from this spot.  I was so happy and fulfilled with the pizza's that were delivered.  Have been looking for a pizza place in my area that churns out decent pizza's.  Very affordable and totally delicious.  Thank you!

What a jolly little local! Cheap & Cheerful quick night out that punches above its weight with far better than expected food; happy, helpful staff and a great fairy-lit ambience! Loved the "breaking of the mould" dishes like Trinchada and Chips in a pizza-base bowl and caramelized popcorn puddings! Well worth a visit!

Popped in here on Tuesday for a quick pizza and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered my usual bacon avocado and feta and was not disappointed. The pizza was ready in no time, it was absolutely full of toppings and was most enjoyable. <br/>Will certainly be back again.

Even though the food does take a little bit longer to come, it was worth the wait. The food is really good and price is decent and affordable! <br/>There is aircon inside so during those hot summer days, its really refreshing! Definitely will come back!

I came back to change my review because of the service I have experienced lately. Since I posted my first review I have not had an order arrive on time. It's usually 20/30 minutes late and the food is ICE cold by the time it arrives. This is a problem I have experienced at different times of the day - (understandably) peak hours and also off peak hours. My usual order also isn't something that should take an hour and 15 minutes to make. I also live less than 3km away from the restaurant, so I cannot think of a single justification for every order being so late. All I gave a 3 because the food is still really tasty and reasonably priced.

Only done takeaways from here. The pizza is pleasant, the delivery time is average. They have messed up orders and given me 2 different pizzas to what I ordered, luckily it so had toppings I ate mostly. Pleasant food, below average takeaway service.

On Friday night, a few girlfriends and I decided to have a 'girls night in' and ordered pizzas from Pizza Del Forno in Blairgowrie.<br/><br/>What a pleasant suprise! The pizzas are made in a traditional wood oven, were delicious and the toppings were generous! <br/><br/>*Recommendation: Pizza Del Forno is running two specials currently that I quite liked:<br/>1. Really enjoyed their pizza especially the Carlitos. Service was quick and very friendly! Overall a satisfying experience. Definitely will go again!

Since they have changed managment the setvice has gone down. They had been getting a number of my orders wrong, and had to go back to change it for another.Even got meat on a vegerarian pizza. Used to go there often, but I will have to look for another pizzeria in the area.

Great for take away and dining in. Very friendly and efficient staff. The food surprises in taste and quality for a pizza joint. I will highlight that the rice they serve with their calamari starter is MUCH tastier than the bland, sour rice you'd get with your calamari at a place like Ocean Basket. I'd go back to Del Forno repeatedly for pizza and a lot of other things on their menu.

Really yummy and well priced pizza. I've only had take aways from here but the service was quick and pleasant. I have gone back a few times. The bacon feta and spinach is just amazing!
